I had previously bought packing bags in a store — the kind the you had to seal and then roll/squish the air out of one end of the bag. It really took 2 people to remove most of the air. I took them to Mexico, and they were just OK. I switched to these vacuum bags before our family ski trip. What a great purchase! This set includes multiple sizes, which worked well for both everyday clothes and bulkier cold-weather gear. They also fit well inside different size suitcases. One tip: Fill the bag, seal it shut, squish some air out, but then suck the final air out with the bag already inside your suitcase. You can "massage" the clothes and guide how the bag flattens out for a really efficient use of your suitcase space. The organization you can achieve is really impressive. The bag material and valve is tough enough to not allow any air leaks. The red "glides" they provide make sure the seal is solid and easy to achieve. And the system is simple enough that I suspect that elementary kids or people with lower dexterity could operate it (my teens certainly had no issues packing themselves). After returning home, I folded all the bag along their original fold lines, charged up the "sucky thing" (which still held 75% of it's charge after being used at least 20 times), and tucked it all neatly in our travel drawer, ready for our international trip next month. Great value. High quality. I'd even go so far as to say they're fun to use.

These bags were great for my last trip using just carry on luggage. I wasn't sure what sizes I needed so I got the multi pack. I think for my next trip I will get a few more of the smaller bags though since the larger ones were too big to lay flat my carry on suitcase if I filled them. Even though I would utilize more bags, I feel that they'd be easier to fit while packing. Plus I could break my clothes down to a couple of days/bag. Useful if you'll be changing locations and don't want to have to open or repack bags. Vacuum was small and mighty and worked within a minute.

This item worked very well and did save some space from regular packing to vacuum packing. You can’t over fill the bad or it will not seal. You have to be wise on packing for max capacity and the vacuum worked quickly. Bags are thick and seem to be durable. I will be using to travel to Europe so fingers crossed. I also purchase the bag condenser and they did very well as well. I think much easier to live out of especially if seeing other cities and staying at different hotels. Doesn’t condense as much as a vacuum sealer but it still is a game changer for compact packing.

I debated on a 4 or 5 star and decided 5 because of what it is and does. The bags are quality, not thin or cheap feeling like some in stores. The closure valve is simple, twist on and off cap and after sucking the air I did not notice any air trying to escape causing a rush to put the cap on. The sizes do fit your bags. I used a small size and a medium size for a 22" carry on suitcase. The large will fit the medium and large size cases. Charging the hand pump is a breeze, a C corded device and it charged quickly so good if taking with you on a trip for the return. It feels good in your hand, is not heavy, and once you push the button it works fast to suck the air, less than 30 seconds total. The bags are marked clearly to a max fill line and from experience I say you need to follow it! I would not put anything other than flat items or clothes to not damage your bags. I show what I packed, how it fit in a compression bag in my suitcase, and then using the vacuum bags. For the medium size I think that there was a marginal bit of more room left once it was in the suitcase compared to the compression bag and if I wanted I could put another flattish, not too big item on the same side. The small bag on the opposite side did have a noticeable improvement of more space over the compression bag (which I didn't compress but placed inside) which would give me plenty of left over space for my toiletries or odd things. Using the bags can help the organized person get what you need in one bag for a 7 day trip easy as long as you don't bring anything more back with you. Another plus I think using the vacuum bags is I think it helps with a bit of weight loss, not much but the medium bag definitely didn't feel as heavy putting it inside as when it was the compressed, compression bag. I also think the type of people who will benefit most are those who like things organized, not messy or need to separate their items. On the return trip you could also put the dirty items in one bag to keep separate from the still good or clean items. For the amount I got (12) being 3 sizes I think it was a good value since with care, you can use these over and over. Even storing seasonal clothing.
