It generates no noise whatsoever and it has what I would call "safety" buckles that you fasten to keep the bag's lid closed while the UVC light is turned on "doing it's thing". This is basically box made of a reflective fabric with an UV light bar inside it. The box comes folded so when I'm not using it I store it folded too, good for saving space. Comes with its own wall plug and a metal grid to make sure any object you place inside is not touching the floor of the box, so the UV lights can reflect all over the surface. Manual states you have to use it in a ventilated room and no person can be there while the device is working, it has a timer with 3 different sets, 5min, 15min and 30min. You can generate ozone with UV light, but you also can destroy ozone with UV light. This device uses a doped quartz glass lamp to generate UV light, by design this type of lamp can only emit UV in one wavelength, when is running it cannot vary the type of UV light that emits. With this in mind, the product description says the lamp wavelength is 253.7nm, that's the wavelength you use to destroy ozone, not to generate it (that would be 185nm, is called UV-V). So either this device is not working at 253.7nm, which is the best wavelength to kill germs, or is not producing ozone but destroying it. I'm inclined to the first, because when I use it I can smell the ozone. I'm taking out one star because the description is not accurate, it needs of more explanation on how the product sanitizes exactly.
