  • Value for amount spent.
Great value for your money. Nice quality. You get a lot of scope for what you pay. Makes me wonder why some scopes are so expensive. I will buy more when I need them.

This is a somewhat tune-able scope that works extremely well in precision shots in high light areas. The magnification and range is rather nice, but the clarity is not quite what I'd like in longer range uses. That the provided rings are pass-through, yet blocked by the forward bell is amusing. I do not hate this scope, it is just that it falls short on what I would really want with a true precision scope. Honestly, selling the shroud and thread protector ring alone would be a lot more profitable. That the clarity bothered me alone is a rough choice, but this thing is heavy and physically large. The nail in the coffin is the led lighting backlights into the eye. In the dark, reacquiring vision after looking away is troublesome. ... show more

  • This is a really nice scope in my safes.
I guess I've been too frugal for too long but I've never sprung for a competitive scope or one more than a few hundred dollars and I'm usually at the low range of that. Still there's been meat in the freezer and small target holes at decent distances for me, typically less than 200 yards. And all of that with I guess 'budget' scopes. That's how life's cookie crumbles, eh? That said, this scope will join the others on a .243 tack driver, a small collection of sporterized former military .30 calibers. I have one .308 that was outfitted with a scope running almost $800 and taking some consternation spending that since I don't spend it on golf or sports tickets and it took a conversation with my beloved. This is a good scope for me and probably you. It's a large tube and will look like something serious on the .243 which is where this is headed. I like the flip up scope caps but they're a little stiff and I wish they had spring loaded pushbuttons. You have to kind of peel these open which is not the best when you finally get that shot. The clarity of the optic is fine and clear at my usual distances. It adjusts to different distances pretty smoothly with clear graduations on all the dials and rings. The locking feature is okay but I don't adjust a lot in the field. At the range, after bore sighting, I have a process of getting on paper and dialed into the ten ring. Most of my long arms are for work to 100 yards, center of mass, off hand with a hasty sling. This will be zeroed for 200 yards and I'll use sticks or a tree or some rest for coyotes in a farmers field where they're a problem. This looks nice at 200 yards. I'm not shooting Camp Perry distances and likely never will. I am not an aficionado of the long shot. Predators and meat are what's at the end of my muzzle and this level of equipment works for me. The green and red illumination is a new feature for me and welcome. It's easily adjustable and looks good in low light as I've tested it so far. This is not mounted yet but carried about to different distances and conditions I expect to be using it at. The included scope rings are a single clamping screw I won't use opting for something more robust. Same with the sun shade. I just never had a use for one. The instructions or 'briefintruduction' as they wrote it are abysmal and the main reason for four stars along with the scope caps. The rest is as it is advertised and of a good quality at a great price. We're talking about a $70 scope here folks not a fine Swarovski. ... show more

  • Really great value
The rings it came with were not the terrible bottom barrel type that usually come with value scopes, so I was pleasantly surprised. That said, I still mounted it on a better set of scope rings. If you don't want to buy separate, the stock ones are fine and usable. This is a standard scope with second focal plane reticle, etched and illuminated. The adjustable objective is good, with ridges so your gloved or wet hand won't slip. There's an optional sunshade that confused me (I didn't notice there was a small ring in front of the objective lens I should unscrew first). The turrets are standard, lockable and clicky, with a quick way to reset zero. The diopter adjustment was a bit confusing at first, because three different things rotated at that end. The first is the throw lever, which is okay, a little too tight but doesn't quite fight you. The third is the actual diopter adjustment. Between them was a lock ring that encompassed the entire ocular end, which I confused for the diopter (until I noticed it didn't do anything). The throw lever is tensioned enough that it doesn't need this. No biggie, since it doesn't mess anything up, but I'm still not entirely sure if it's a lock ring, it's kind of weird. The glass is amazing! Not just for its price point, but in general. It doesn't beat the glass on 4-digit price scopes, but it should make the three digit ones shiver in their boots. Very clear, even in the afternoon when it's cloudy. The objective lens is huge, so the exit pupil is good, not unforgiving even at 24x. The eye relief is tolerable too. Everything from 6x to 24x was usable to me. Most of my other value scopes, even ones with adjustable objectives, something was always off with one end of the magnification range, or the exit pupil or eye relief were unforgiving. Not so with this. This is value tier but it really does give mid tier a run for its money. I wouldn't shoot PRS with this, but I wouldn't hesitate to put this on a good rifle. ... show more
