They offer protection and are easy to add a regular pillow case to as well. The size is large but works great on standard pillows and we simply fold the extra end into the pillow case we put over it. The value is great for the money and the quality of the fabric is good. It washed well and has stood the test of 6 months without showing any changes to it's softness or size. Great item! Fabric is soft and comfortable, yet strong. You can tell it is a good membrane. I don’t wake up as stuffy in the morning, thinking it does a good job with dust mites and possibly mold spores. I would recommend and buy again. Pretty sure it said made it Pennsylvania which is nice to see USA made.
