I really like this bag. The "vegan leather" is very soft and supple like real leather. The liner is decent. I do have a couple of complaints though. The main compartment zipper could be more centered - right now it is closer to the back of the backpack and it is kind of a pain to get to stuff in front of the bag in the main compartment. I've tried reorganizing it a few times haven't found a way to mitigate that. Another thing is the zippers, they are kind of sharp? So if you catch your hand or finger in/against it while zipping it could scrape or possibly cut you. It's got me a few times now (just a scrape from having my hand in the way). The straps get tangled a lot and I somehow always put it on backwards (buckle down). And lastly is the smell. At first it was a pleasant "leather" smell but I've started to notice it kind of smells like farts. Chemical farts. And it sticks to my hands, so my hands smell like chemical farts after I touch it. It's been a few weeks with the bag now I'm hoping this will fade soon. Other than those minor things it's a really great bag and I am happy I bought it! ... show more

I really love this bag. It exceeded my expectations. First off, I ordered the vinyl gray one because I wanted to avoid the issue of it peeling over time. And I’m so glad I did. You can’t even tell it’s vinyl unless you get up close and personal lol and it’s still so durable and I can tell it’s really going to last a while. The material is double lined too. Pockets galore. Just an fyi - its color is a little darker in person than what my photos show. It’s a really pretty color and the photos don’t do it justice. It came packed really well. It was in 3 separate bags before I finally got to the bag itself. One bag was a drawstring storage bag too. The hardware on mine is a gunmetal color which looks sooo nice with the gray. And it doesn’t feel cheap either. The straps are nice, they’re thick and strong. One main reason I chose this bag was because the side bottle pockets needed to fit my 20oz yeti rambler, and it does with room to spare! So this bag is a definite winner for me and I highly recommend it! ... show more

This is a great bag. I've been needing something easy to carry. I don't have to carry it on my shoulder, I can sling it over my shoulder toward the back. It's roomy and I was able to fit everything in it that I carry. This would be a great travel bag and so easy to keep up with. There's a zipper pocket in the side that nestles next to your back - great to keep secure a wallet and phone. Worth the cost and roomy. ... show more

    • What on earth is that smell?

This purse is exceptionally amazing. When I carry a backpack purse, it is usually for travel, days at an amusement park, etc....any time I want to be carrying more than a normal purse would carry. I bought it for a trip to Washington, DC, where I would be walking all day, in and out of museums, and riding the metro train everywhere. I knew I would need to carry at least two 32 oz water bottles, snacks, two pairs of glasses, emergency kit, hand sanitizer and wet wipes (this was just two days before the pandemic hit DC), and would be carrying souvenirs and maps that we would collect through the day. I needed a big sturdy backpack, and this worked perfectly. The straps held up beautifully, and the pockets were in convenient places. The zippers were great. If I was concerned about someone getting into my purse, I could have secured it. It held up in the rain and was easy to take through security. It's one of the best backpack purses I've ever owned and the price was just right. HOWEVER..... The purse has this stench...I can't even describe it. It's what I imagine a heavily industrial city in China to smell like, plus its sewer system, plus something that is so putrid, it's like sticking an ice pick through my nostril, through my sinus cavities, and directly into my brain. When I first pulled it out of its packaging, the smell was so bad that it stunk up my entire 14'X24', well-ventilated living room. I've ordered Chinese products that have had weird smells before. Usually, you just lay them out or hang them up outside, and over time the smell dissipates. So I did that for 24 hours, but the smell didn't lessen a bit. Getting desperate because my trip was days away, I risked putting it in my clothes dryer on low heat with several fabric softener sheets and ran it in there for three to four hours. The bag held up beautifully, but the smell was still just as unrelenting. I sprayed an insane amount of Febreeze in it, and it was still brain-stabbingly putrid. It finally was time for my trip, and I had to use it as it. When I put it in the truck, the smell filled the small space quickly. I think because of the heat and getting used to the smell over the ten-hour drive, the outside of the purse lost the intensity of the smell somewhat, but as soon as you opened it, it was again like an ice pick rammed through to your brain. I dealt with it through the trip because I'm a "suck it up, buttercup" kind of person, but at no point did the smell of the inside go away. I've now been home two months from the trip, and that purse has been sitting on my living room floor the whole time because I was so sick of the smell, I've been avoiding unpacking it. The other day, I picked it up and could smell the smell faintly on the outside, but as soon as I unzipped that zipper, the ice pick through the brain smell hit me just as hard as it had the first day I opened it. I've never experienced a smell that unrelentingly putrid last this long on something. It is worse than the smell of opening the sippy cup of milk my daughter lost in the car and we didn't find for six years (it was lodged in a fold-down seat we didn't use). It is worse than when I worked at a fish market, and I opened a pack of raw salmon that had thawed out en route and had turned green and was teeming with maggots. It is worse than the time my son pooped in his diaper during his nap, took the diaper off, smeared the poo all over the crib, the wall, himself, and then projectile vomited curdled formula all over me while I was cleaning up said poo. The thing about those smells was that they eventually went away. The stench in this purse hasn't in over two months. So the three-star rating is because it is the best backpack purse I've ever used. It is exceedingly durable, exceedingly comfortable to wear, it was impeccably designed with comfort and convenience in mind, and it holds a ridiculous amount of stuff for its size. It just has the stench of the insides of a body during an autopsy where the bowels have been punctured mixed with that Asian fish sauce that is made from the drippings of fishheads that have been tied up in a bag and left in full sun so they can rot and ferment and ooze said drippings. If you have lost your sense of smell for any reason, this, hands down, is a 5-star purse. If you live inside the sewage plant of some sort of sulfur springs, making this smell inconsequential compared to what you smell every day, again, it is hands down a five-star purse. Otherwise, you have to weigh the benefits of the purse verses that putrid smell. I personally am keeping it. It will be reserved exclusively for travel and outdoor days, like amusement park visits and such. Perhaps the decrease in smell is imperceptively small, and over the course of ten or fifteen years, the smell will dissipate to nothing. Maybe I'll soak it in a vat of essential oils and homeopathic remedies, and the brew will cure the purse from whatever jungle rot leprosy lactose intolerance syndrome it has. Whatever happens, the fact that I'm keeping a purse that smells so rancid is a testament to how hard it is to find a good backpack purse. ... show more
