I had a usb c that came with my phone and my phone fell off of the table right onto the plug and it bent and broke! This plug is really strong and the cable is twice the diameter of the old cable it should last as long as my phone.

The type-C end is long and stiff and puts a lot of torque on the actual contact pins. I now have intermittent connection loss on a 2 week old cable. I'm sure everything meets spec, but it's not durable.

I use this extensively with a variety of drive and host device types and so far it works very well, including worked around a problem with one drive that occured when I used the OEM cable instead of this one. I spent about 4 weeks using this cable for several hours a day in challening scenarios and it did exactly what I wanted: enabled the 10Gb/s device speed and didn't get in my way with connection problems or drops. Plugs are good quality / fit properly unlike some branded cables which have too loose a fit. If you have a number of 10Gb/s devices you switch around on a daily basis this is a nice cable to have to maximize your chances of everything working in a realiable / stable way. Don't assume because you purchased a good brand of drive or device, that it ships with a good cable. Equipment MFR often skimp on cable quality to increase their margins, partly because they know many people won't want the hassle of calling in to replace a cable. ... show more

I was doing so much research on USB-C cables on Amazon. There are so many cables to choose from. Luckily I read reviews here of people saying this cable worked well for them with Android auto (AA). I can confirm it has worked flawlessly for me so far. This is after having a USB-C cable that would disconnect from android auto on every bump on the road. Even slight vibrations would disconnect from AA. This cable is sturdy. I thought the connector was too long when looking at the cable before purchasing it.
