    • Wow! So, this is what a $100.00 case looks like.

I am usually reluctant to spend more than $25 for a cell phone case, opting for brands like Spigen and Torras, because until recently I wasn’t convinced that a $50+ case offered protection to justify its cost. Recently however, my wife dropped her S21 Ultra in a Dbrand Grip Case from shoulder height and the corner of the display cracked. A few days later, my son dropped his OnePlus 7T in a Poetic case from waist height and the entire display shattered. At the time, I was using the Spigen Rugged Armor and Torras Shockproof and thought to myself “these cases were about $20 each. Would the same thing happen to my $1,500 (and uninsured) S23 Ultra if I drop it?” That’s when I bit the bullet and bought the UAG. So far, I’m really impressed. Is it worth $100? To me it is. This thing is by far the most attractive and well-built case I’ve used in recent memory. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: Beautiful design Superb build quality Grippy sides (not as grippy as Dbrand though) Easily accessible S-Pen MagSafe compatibility Excellent corner protection Cons: A little bulky and not as easy to use one-hand as with a slimmer case Some reviewers have stated that the lip on the sides is lower than the display and thus the phone isn’t protected if dropped on its side. That is not my observation. The lips is very slightly above the screen by maybe a millimeter or less on the sides. Would I want to drop it on the sides? No. However, if the lip was too high, using the side panels on the phone would be challenging. I don’t think UAG should be faulted because Samsung has, in spite of years of criticism, continued to use curved displays on their phones. Some reviewers have also stated that the magnet in the case isn’t that strong. Now, I wouldn’t say it’s super strong but I wouldn’t say it’s weak either. I have a wireless MagSafe charging stand and a MagSafe car-mount that I used with my iPhone 13 Pro, and the S23 Ultra in UAG case attaches to those accessories just fine and doesn’t fall off. However, when I use a MagSafe power bank with the S23 Ultra, I notice that the power bank will slide around if I don’t hold the phone right. I don’t know whether this happens with the iPhone because I got the power bank after I sold the iPhone. Would I recommend this case? Definitely. Do I think it could be cheaper? Probably. Update: I was leaving work when I dropped my S23 Ultra in the UAG case flat on its face onto concrete. I was like"Oh s$#&!", but to my relief, the phone was perfectly fine. ... show more

I love this case and it is my daily driver for my S23 Ultra! First off, it feels extremely well made and I really love the overall design. All the ports/cutouts are perfect and there is even a special notch made that helps taking out the S Pen very simple and easy. The case has raised edges making sure the screen doesn't touch a flat surface when put screen down. I love the carbon fiber insert just adding to the already premium design. It is fairly easy to take on and off so no worries there. The addition of the MagSafe connection is awesome! I don't always use it, but it's really great to be able to have that option on an Android device. All things considered, this is not the cheapest case in the world, but I think it's worth every penny because of the design and more importantly, the amount of protection this provides. ... show more

I would love to give this case a 5 star review, but I dropped my phone face down and my screen shattered. There is a lip on the face of the phone, but the lip is too small to protect it on anything with a texture, like a concrete floor. The fit is nice, however, I constantly have to pull the case down to swipe up and pull up the recently used apps. I would recommend it for someone looking for a thin light case, but if you're looking for the highest protection, I would recommend getting something else. Pros: Looks nice Feels nice Light Protects edges and back from falls Cons: Lip is too shallow, and doesn't protect the face of the phone well. This is my second go around with Urban Armor Gear. I've had fantastic results with my Pixel 3 XL, so upgrading to an S23 Ultra was a MASSIVE upgrade for me to say the least. Literally almost everything about this case is perfect: the fit, finish, durability, grip, design, colors, execution, protection, quality, and sturdiness. As a phone case designed to protect and look good, it excels beyond any measure. The only issue I have with it is that it's not lens protector and screen protector friendly. First, you can't use any other type of lens protector other than the ones that are individually attached to each lens. I use Spigen and they work flawlessly. Second, you can't really use any glass screen protector. The case fits so tight around the phone, and the case pushes out the screen protector by the edges. It won't work. However, you can use the Armor Shield screen protectors and they work perfectly with this case. There is no issue with coming loose. Nearly perfect, and simply the best phone case on the market. This is a great phone case. I bought it for the S23 Ultra I had the phone for about a month I can say it's not worth the money. This case will increase the weight of the phone. I have noticed when charging the phone the back heats up. I am not sure why but I am guessing it's because of the magnet in the back. You can feel the heat coming through the screen itself as well. It's hard to bend in the middle because of the enclosed magnet. I have to be honest. You will need big hands. The phone case is lightweight on its own but together with the S23 Ultra which is light as well it feels bulky and adds a few ounces. For max protection is great but it does heat your phone in the end. ... show more
