  • Confusing setup . One button for all options. Read this review and save hours of your life!
Very confusing instructions. Found additional details on online forums. Requires 4 "AA" batteries not included. And needs to have the USB cord plugged into a USB source. Wall block not included, only cord. Do not use rechargeable batteries. I attempted to use 4 fully charged rechargeable batteries and it would not power on at all. When installing the 2 LED light sensor bars you do not follow the arrows on the bars. You need to have both firing direction arrows facing each other which completely goes against the printed directional arrows and the left and right stamps on the bars if you are viewing the unit from the display side. The Wi-Fi works I could not get it to work with my Google Chrome security settings. I downloaded the Mozilla Firefox app and was able to connect to Wi-Fi network "HT-50" (password-88888888) (no Internet) and accessed the device URL 8.8.8.8 by opening a Mozilla Firefox page. You can input the weight and the caliber of the rounds upon startup when you press and hold the settings button within 2 seconds of turning on the power switch. It first goes to MPS (meters per second). Press button again to get to FPS (feet per second) then long press button and release and you will see SU (Start up) from there you press button once more and you enter the weight in grams of the projectile. You have to short press the button once for each gram increment and then medium press to reverse your increment back by points. Then you long press the button to go to the caliber setting which is in mm. Same way with the short press and medium length press to get your mm of caliber dialed in. Then you just let it sit for a few seconds or long press to exit the menu and you're ready to shoot. Everything is done with one single button so it's all based on short, medium, and long length button presses with one button. After that it displayed the weight and caliber and every shot result on the Web page 8.8.8.8 when connected via server HT-50. It's not an app it looks almost like some old MSdos setup. I'm hoping my loss is your gain. Very frustrating but it eventually worked out and it seems pretty accurate me. You can't beat it for the price compared to a $400-$500 Garmin unit. It comes with a spare LED sensor bar... It will not calculate a Joules reading on the URL page until you reach a high enough velocity through the unit. I was testing it with throwing nuts and bolts through it and it wouldn't register Joules until it had a high enough velocity due to Joules being calculated in the upper ranges. Still measured MPS and FPS to verify it was detecting objects. Good luck! ... show more

  • Cheap speed reader
Very cheap and hard to get set up on computer. Like someone made it from scraps laying around

  • Crazy user interface, wifi version has ESP01, works, has quirks
First one I ordered did not work, rear led panel never lit up, so negative star for quality. Replacement worked great.. Instructions are not well written and are of questionable accuracy. Firmware user interface is rudimentary. An additional 5v power supply is required for wifi to work, this is weird and clutters up the system, negative star for gizmo syndrome. On the bright side, its readings are spot on. For wifi, it has an ESP01 module, giving you lots of possibility for modifying it to your own needs. It's cheap, fairly sturdy and very hackable. ... show more

  • Cheap - Kinda Works, Terrible Instructions
The first unit I received was flaky and wouldn't turn on. They sent me a second one and that one does turn on. Upon messing with the first one, I was able to finally get it to turn on as well. I'll need to send one of them back so will test them both and make sure the one I keep is working properly. The housing is plastic and feels pretty cheap. It does have a brass mount for a tripod though. There is a usb cord that you can plug into the side to power the unit, but it doesn't work on either unit I have. When the unit turns on, it will cycle and then start beeping to be set up. This is where the fun begins as the instructions are printed in about size 6 font and are absolutely terrible. There's supposed to be a way to connect to the device via wifi, but I haven't figured out how to connect and can't seem to connect to either unit. Based on the poorly translated instructions, it appears as if you're supposed to set some parameters regarding the projectile mass, as well as change from meters to feet. I didn't quite figure it out yet will need to spend some time messing some more with it. It also appears that it looses the setting when you remove the batteries. I haven't confirmed this yet but will update this once I actually get it set up and have the process down. Once the uprights are installed, the top bands need to be installed in the correct orientation - there are arrows showing flight path to use. The space provided to shoot through is pretty tight. It shouldn't be an issue with a rifle or pistol, but will need to be careful with a bow. All-in-all, this is a pretty cheap chorno that I have yet to get working properly. It's cheap for a reason, and as of now I'm not sure I can recommend it. You're better off spending more money and getting a name brand with a known reputation. ... show more

  • What instructions?
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I got no instructions!! Couldn’t figure out why it kept saying JPS. After messing with it I got it to FPS. It’s cheap. On little circuit board in the thinnest sheet metal I’ve ever seen. But it does work. Everyone keeps talking about an app or WiFi . Where?? No instructions at all!! What app! Mine came with an extra light sensor thingy for the top. But the no instructions kinda makes me mad. I have no idea the features or how it work! Now I’m on here reading reviews trying to figure this thing out. Seems legit… thanks for the tech tip have no idea how to work! 🙄 someone help me!! ... show more

  • It's not worth your time and money
Junk. No directions. Only directions are on the Amazon item details. Wifi worked at home, failed first time at range. Maybe useful for airsoft, but it can't handle 223. Reading were all over the place for the 4 reading it made. It did not read the 5th.
