I bought this to put on my craftsman weedeater. It's not as universal as they advertise. But the reason I'm giving it 1 star is because it looks like someone made this with a hand drill. All of the screw holes are off center, and it makes it next to impossible to center it on a smaller shaft. Also it's made of plastic.... Which doesn't fill me with any confidence. ... show more

    • A tough Call - could be perfect or terrible depending on your needs
Very simple design and installed nicely on trimmer shaft. It is lighter weight than most other heads so you can use less throttle on your weed eater. Has a thumb screw on bottom that holds the string in place that easily come lose and fall off. I lost mine the second time I used it. You can tighten it tighter but risk cutting the string. I bolt was a simple replacement that, and I stop and check it more frequently now. I trimmed again a few days ago without too many issues. I don't think this is a bad product, just know that it is different than most other heads and has a learning curve to see how it works best for your needs. I'm still on fence as to rather I would buy another if needed in the future??? ... show more

Works very well as described. Definitely make changing the string easier and faster that winding 15' around the existing spool. The heavier mono string last much longer also.

First off, I really wanted to like this thing. I’m serious about my tools, and I wanted to support a local business. It kinda worked, but maybe if you’re using a gas trimmer with some torque. My electric DeWalt will spin it up pretty good, but as soon as it hits some weeds or grass it just slows and folds the weeds over, as opposed to trimming them. It wasn’t an issue with the head that came on my trimmer, probably due to the flywheel effect of a wider and heavier trimmer head. Unfortunately, this trimmer attachment looks and operates like it was made with dull hand tools. The opening for the trimmer shaft was drilled at an angle, so no matter what the thing spins off balance. Since it’s a softer delrin-like material (you can see the rough saw marks), the grub screws like to back out. Let me tell you, quite exciting when that thing comes screaming off your trimmer like a demon-possessed squirrel. A couple of other unprofessional touches that I found disagreeable, the trimmer head came in a sandwich bag and the flyers stapled to the bag looked ragged, like instead of grabbing the scissors they just folded the paper and ripped it along the edge of a desk. A bit tacky all in all, in my opinion. If it was me making this trimmer head, I’d invest in a small lathe/mill combo….a hacksaw and drill press will get the job done, but not for making them professionally. ... show more

I have to say that I really am glad I purchased this adaption to my weedwacker. It is really is very impressive, easier and More efficient! My neighbor even noticed the difference and asked when did I purchase the new Weed Wacker and how much did I spend! When I told him it was just a 12.00 attachment he thought I was kidding. I had to actually go and show him how easy it was to apply! Based on his reaction, I think Amazon will be getting another order real soon! PS: I am also Impressed with how quickly I received it without ordering overnight delivery! And finally I am most impressed how a percentage of the profits will be going to our Veterans!
