Universal cover my ass. It's made for a laptop. The picture with the desktop keyboard is very misleading. I killed a keyboard by spilling on it this past week so I bought this to protect my new one. Can you type with it on? Yes. Will it save your keyboard from spills? Most likely. Here's hoping I never have to find out. How does it look? Like crap (see photo). If you are expecting it to actually fit a desktop keyboard expect to be disappointed. Honestly I'm wondering if I couldn't have achieved the same function with saran wrap. ... show more

    • Better than expected!
I killed 3 keyboards from small amts of water spilling into the keys. I first tried the keyboard cover (yes, the thing like a saranwrap with elastic that goes over the keyboard). If you pull it "taut", the covers work well. However, my short nails kept tearing a hole near the "s" key, allowing moisture to get in again. So I then tried to use thick saran wrap. Same issue...the tears occurred near the "s". Ok....so I then tried to protect the purchased plastic "bonnet" with saran wrap and the saran wrap tore in 2 days. The issue and reason that I reduced this to 4 stars is because this silicone layer doesn't protect adequately against water! But it does protect against damage to the plastic bonnet. So I am using the plastic protector under the silicone cover and the silicone protects against damage to the plastic. I probably could do the same with saran wrap. This silicone protector is starting to stretch on the left hand side, but not so much that it's causing issues. In retrospect, now that I see how this silicone cover works, I might have been able to take a 4mil plastic bag and tape it around the keyboard and it wouldn't have torn. However, I must say that I like the feel of this silicone layer. No regrets - I was aware of the fact that this product doesn't address the water issue. But if the manufacturer wanted to make a better product, they might have a way to be longer or more "envelope like" so that it could seal the keyboard from water. ... show more

Love that it's flat since my board is non standard. Very transparent. Nice thickness. Easy to rinse off. Don't love that I've had it 4 days and it already has imprint impressions from the edge of the keys. I'm afraid they will punch through quickly. Also, the fold crease (from how packaged) will not go away. I've stretched, washed, and laid flat. It's irritating, but not enough to return. ... show more

I wanted a simple dust cover for my expensive Corsair keyboard. This product proved far better than I expected. Not only can you easily put on and take off this cover, but the membrane is actually thin enough to be able to type through it without removing it from the keyboard, albeit not quite as fast for a speedy typist like me. If I’m only using the keyboard for a small task, I leave it on. If writing a long document, I remove it to improve my speed. Highly recommended. ... show more

I have a fitted keyboard cover on for my Mac but was unable to find one for my new PC. Decided to take a chance on this since I have long nails and wanted to protect the keys while typing. Liked it so much, I bought several in case the original one wears out. It's great for keeping dust off my keyboard. And it's also thin enough to leave on on while typing. I like this crumb protector for my standard size keyboard. After my husband snacks at the desk, all I have to do is lift this sleeve off and shake it in the trash, leaving my keyboard nice and clean. My first impression was "how am I going to use the computer keys with this overlay laying on top". I am able to type as if it wasn't even there. When I first received the product, I didn't realize it was adhered to the cardboard. I saw the free computer size keyboard overlay and thought they sent me the wrong one. I almost threw the full size computer cardboard overlay in the trash because I didn't see it and I had never ordered this for my computer keys before.     • Just a flat sheet of sheer silicone; **keeps keys pressed down**; but it's OK for laptop touch pad
- This has absolutely no key-shaped molding. The idea is that it "fits all keyboards", but the problem is that the super-smooth underside sticks via static cling to the keyboard between the keys, once any key is pressed. - I did try it on my laptop glide pad, and I was able to still use the glide pad, so it at least works for that. - The end result is that it is not a "keyboard protector" unless your keys are *perfectly flat*, like the touch buttons on a microwave, which are actually underneath a plastic cover. In which case, this wouldn't be necessary. - So, once I install my new touch pad, I'll put this over it, but as a keyboard cover, I wasn't at all able to get it to function as a *keyboard* protector. I'll have to look for a molded one... ... show more

This is just a flat piece of silicone. I was concerned this would not stay in place since there isn't any gathering or enough to tuck under the keyboard. But it doesn't slide whatsoever and covers my keyboard completely with a little to spare (just not enough to tuck under.) Although, I would definitely check your measurements as this would not have covered my old keyboard. It wipes of nicely with a wet cloth and seems as though it will last indefinitely.
