I’m loving my mug! I also have the other type (ember). The two have completely different systems. The Ui does not have a battery and does not need charging. It sits in the cabinet and you put it on the platform while drinking because it heats by contact. I love that it never runs out of battery, that I can dishwash it and that it has a wonderful feel of ceramic. I missed these with the ember ones. The only downside is that it works best in a desk sitting situation where you have the platform next to you. So if you are moving around the house, the mug has no heating. But I can figure this new system out. Maybe I will get one for office and one for living room. The temperature is perfectly hot if your drink starts hot. And I like my coffee hot, not warm.

This is NOT a self-heating mug like an Ember. It is a $100 warming pad with a cheap ceramic mug with metal in the base to supposedly keep the coffee warm when not on the pad. It does not work. Coffee gets cold. Do not buy.

The ceramic mug is really beautiful (unlike other self-heating mugs). It has a nice feel in your hands. The mug was a much-appreciated gift, but I don't know yet how well it works. The idea of keeping your beverage warm AND being able to charge your phone on the heating pad is brilliant. Please note that the mug is dishwasher safe, a very nice (and rare) feature.

Great for keeping my coffee hot at work. Not sure why people say it doesn't get hot enough as it will get hot enough to almost burn my tongue if I'm not careful. It also wirelessly charges your phone if needed. Highly recommended.

Works well. Only disappointment is that you have to keep it plugged in constantly. I was hoping it was rechargeable so I could place it on my desk without it gobbling one of my USB C slots. Really lovely, and I expected a little more functionality than this.

Other brands have a coating that chips off the metal mug. I'm sure this ceramic mug is a safer option. Tip: Be sure to use the optional AC adapter and don't plug into your computer or it won't keep your coffee as warm.

We’re incredibly happy with this. Aesthetically beautiful, feels good in the hand, the ceramic is a joy and feels more natural than plastic or metal. Easy to clean, but don’t microwave it! Keeps drinks hot but not too hot as advertised. Depends on your preferred temperature, but for us it’s ideal. We’ve expanded to two mugs and their full teapot now, we’re converts. We experimented with a few self warming mugs and this was finally “the one”.
