I used these to make signs and they are very nice quality wood. Painted them using stencils, both the paint and clear coat had no issues sticking to the wood. There is enough space around the frame to attach hanging hardware. Will get again.

If they are going to oil paint on this surface, it must be treated first by using gesso. I didn’t use it oil on the wood surface. It was perfect for me.
