The holes for the screws were not molded so the screws definitely require a drill. You cannot hand tighten with an Allen wrench! Some pieces are dull and already scratched. My daughters $500 bed from Ashley furniture was way better. The picture of the screw on the ladder is as far as I can get it in with the actual drill. Horrible. ... show more

This bed is not going anywhere! The wood is solid and with the long lag bolts it doesn't wiggle or squeak at all. That said - we have an impact screwdriver. I would have gone out to buy one if we didn’t. While the drawers are a good width they are not very tall. The drawers also only pull out of the chest about 3/4. I had to adjust how I fold clothes to get them to fit inside. We put a large toy box under neath and got foam play tiles for the clubhouse floor ... show more
