This was easy to put together, considering the reviews say it was hard. It looks great. It came missing two of the “H” screws so I wasn’t able to put the top piece on correctly, but all and all it’s great. The quality is interesting, it’s heavy but the wood is filmy. It fit all of my books which I love because I have quite a few books-no more double bookshelves! So I’m happy with this purchase. I just didn’t like how thin the wood felt but it looks great and is holding up well.

Box was heavy but once you get all the pieces out didnt seem to feel like it weighed much. Size is great not to tall for my short self. Quality of the material seems a little cheap but so far so good. Storage capacity seems to be good, I still have room to add more books. Definitely worth the price.

Where do I even begin with this bookshelf? The instructions were easy to understand, and I was able to put this together by myself. Took me approximately an hour and a half to construct. The size is perfect for my needs and fits in my home office perfectly. The storage capacity is impressive. I have a ton of room for more books. (Time to go shopping). I also have a lot of medical textbooks, and the quality and sturdiness allow all of them to be on a shelf without bowing from the weight. The price for this bookshelf is outstanding compared to the cheap Walmart cardboard bookshelves. A must-have for those who want to have their own personal library.

About a month ago, I bought this bookshelf. I live in an apartment that's.. kinda cluttered, mostly because I have next to no storage spaces. So I thought this corner bookshelf would fit lovely in my spare room. And it did! It's a bit cheaper wood, but it assembled really nicely and easily, it looks lovely, and it fit perfectly in the corner I intended to put it in~ There was just one gargantuan problem... ...it. STANK. Of FORMALDEHYDE. I thought the smell would just kinda go away after I finished making it. Y'know, like normal "factory smell" you get on new things. This didn't go away... at all. It lingered, and filled any room I put it in with that sour, hospital-ly, formaldehyde smell. It got to where, after having it in my spare room all day with me on my computer, I started getting headaches and lightheadedness from how much it was outgassing. It was the perfect style for what I was looking for though... so I tried giving it the benefit of the doubt and did some research on how I could possibly remove the smell myself (without damaging it). I tried baking soda, wiping it down with surface cleaners, I even left it outside on my covered porch for almost 3 WEEKS to let it air out and outgas. After bringing it back in, it hadn't changed one bit... It filled my whole living room with that strong formaldehyde smell within 1 day... Out of all the furniture I've ever gotten, new or old, I've neeever had one smell like this before, or this strongly, for so LONG. Hell, I just disassembled it yesterday night, and I can STILL smell it occasionally when I inhale through my nose. I'm returning this, and not buying another one. I hope I didn't develop any lung conditions from this...

I am conflicted. I purchased this corner peice in addition to a regular 5 shelf equivalent made by the same company. The "normal" shelf is fantastic. The corner shelf is nothing like the regular shelf that I purchased from the same company to go with it. This corner shelf is made of a very lightweight wood that cracks and chips easily. It is also lightly stained, and the stain came off the corners when I was screwing in the corner peices. In addition to the stain lifting and the wood chipping, the stain has a very strong and noxious smell. It gave me a headache and I honestly don't know if I can keep this peice if the smell doesn't go away. The upright sides and back are made of MDF, which is the same material as the regular shelf, but they will mostly be hidden, which means that the dull stain of the corner shelf doesn't actually match the shiny MDF shelf that I purchased to go with it. They look weird together, as if one is finished and the other isn't. I really wanted this to work, but it just isn't quality material. I doubt each shelf can actually hold 50 lbs. The corner joint has just enough flex it could give with enough weight. Very disappointing

This item was delivered and very clearly had been considerately packaged, because even its interior pieces had their own separate Saran wrappings to them. I was surprised to find out how incredibly light the materials were, as for instance in one image you can see that I’ve got the largest piece held out horizontally with little more than a wrist extension; for reference I would be hard pressed to do that with a bag of sugar. I liked how the pieces for materials numbered 6 and 9 were both dissimilar in their construction entirely, as in one was a series of planks and then the other was a corner brace. That may seem silly, but once you’ve got everything strung out everywhere that sort of thing helps keep the project on track. I appreciate the way this has been engineered overall, it’s tall and slender, but makes efficient use of its corner joint ensuring that the whole thing in the end came out much sturdier than I had anticipated for the low price. The bookcase makes for maximum usage of a small space, my things are in storage but can now thankfully, slowly be reclaimed. I’m excited to see how many of my books will fit, honestly I expect many will. I will update with those pictures showing it’s holding capacity when the time comes. Overall I am very pleased with this item and glad I chose it over the many others it had to contest with. Update: yeah, this lil’ thing still rocks. For the price point you can’t beat it. I screwed some short screws into it and that sort of thing and the little brace beams didn’t splinter or anything like that. It’s got enough stuff on it to wear my back out loading it all in and out of the car, whatever that tells you! 5/5 couldn’t recommend it enough!
