I like that these pants are warm for cold weather riding. But the fit is awkward. My daughter is 9 and very skinny. She’s usually a 9/10 in clothes. But based on the reviews I sized up to a 14 (after returning a bigger size). The 14 is still too big. It’s fitted around the calves but way to big in the waist and thighs. It has a draw string but doesn’t help to much. Might return AGAIN for smaller size. ... show more

Bought these for my 9 year old granddaughter. We live in midwest so quite cold to ride in winter. She tells me she is toasty warm in these winter breeches. She rides English so the knee patches are important...these are good. I was hesitant to buy them on-line because of sizing concerns. She is quite slender with very long legs and a tiny waist. She is currently wearing a size 10 but I got the breeches in a size 12, hoping they would still fit next winter. Amazingly, these breeches fit her really well. The length is perfect. The leg size works for her. Even as slender as her legs are I was worried just looking at them that they would be too narrow, even for her but they stretch when you put them on and she has plenty of room. And they stay up around her waist too! And because they do have some stretch I think she'll be able to wear them again next winter. These are good quality fabric. I highly recommend them. The price was significantly less than many others I looked at but the quality is comparable. Been through the wash several times and still doing great! ... show more

They're ok, considering price. They're made decently, very thick material, would probably be great for winter riding. My main gripe, is the sizing. My daughter is 8 years old, and usually wears a size 7. I ordered up so that she could get some extra wear out of them. Unfortunately, these barely fit her! They're so darn tight in the calfs and ankles she can barely get them on by herself without a struggle! The waist and hips are surprisingly very loose and comfortable for her, but the bottoms are so tight with very little give or stretch! She's not a large girl either, about average, slim but not skinny. So just be aware if you decide to try these, that if your child has even a remotely athletic build, these may not work out that great. Also, the black material is a fuzz magnet. Lint roller is a must with these, we do have wool rugs in our home, but regardless they still pick up all sorts of pet hair and lint. ... show more

Definitely need to size up 1 or 2 sizes. Not much stretch. I bought a size bigger than what my daughter wears and she breaks a sweat trying to get them on. I tried helping her and ended up smacking her in the face when my hand slipped off. I understand breaches are suppose to be "tight", but dang!
