  • Use under limited conditions
Size: Small/20.5-Inch Color: Red
I bought the TSL snowshoes for use on the Adirondack trails when flotation is less important and aggressive crampons are warranted-meaning well packed trails where one may encounter some ice. Snowshoes are required by State Law on the High Peaks trails when the snowfall exceeds 8 inches even when the trails are well packed. I bought the shortest shoes; saving my longer, competing brand, snowshoes for when I needed float such as breaking fresh snow covered trails. The crampons on the shoes come close to a hybrid of microspikes and full on crampons with some float. My main problem for one peak was, under some springlike conditions, the crampons on the shoes trapped snow such that I had a real problem with snow balling under the shoes on ascent. I had to do a kind of shuffling walk to keep kicking the snow free. For whatever reason, did not have the same balling on descent. There seems to be factory assembly problems. The first pair came without front crampon points and the second pair, the straps were incorrectly installed. I didn't realize the problem with the straps till after tripping and falling on the mountain slopes that the both straps were coming loose. It took some problem solving on the mountain to realize that the heel straps on the one side had been fed under the locking buckle incorrectly. I had only made adjustments with the strap and had not fed it through the buckle when I first sized them to my boots so it must have been an assembly problem. To summarize; adequate under limited conditions, gripping force was phenomenal with the crampons when needed on steep slopes, easy to put on, but check and recheck all points of attachment carefully. These will not be my go to snowshoes but fill a limited need and I am generally satisfied with the purchase. ... show more

  • Lightweight, set and forget
Size: 23.5-Inch Color: Red
Other snowshoes need adjustment, mid hike, but these are so much better! The heel riser feature is great for ascending steeps. I have had these on many great hikes up and around our ski mountain. This works well in Both packed and soft unpacked snow, great float. I was worried at first by the plastic construction, but this has been flawless for me. Five stars all around. ... show more

  • good for groomed or packed snow nothing deep
Size: 23.5-Inch Color: Red
worn about a dozen times now. Like the bindings, ease of walking is good. Great for groomed trails or a few inches. Not too good in deep snow. Tried them in our fields, snow is about 2 feet now. Sunk in about 8 inches. Not enough surface for deep stuff. Cleats are excellent on ice.

  • Too bulky and hard to use bindings
Size: Large/27-Inch Color: Red
Decent bite from the crampons but these shoes are too heavy, too bulky, and harder to get on and off than similar shoes from their competitors. Binding mechanism has also resulted in blisters for me on both heels based on where the strap presses against the boot heel and tightening them enough to actually be functional. The sizing mechanism will also occasionally release itself - this could be legitimately dangerous if moving quickly or if it happened on sketchy terrain. They have a great look, but function wins over form, especially in the mountains. ... show more

  • Reliable Seller-Nice product
Size: Small/20.5-Inch Color: Red
Mostly I want to comment about the seller. The snowshoes arrived a week sooner than the projected arrival date and that made me very happy so I could use them during the winter holiday break. The seller also answered a questions within minutes, not hours or days! The snowshoes have many gripping spikes and were comfortable. I have only been out on one trip with them but they worked well in different types of terrain. I recommend these shoes, and this seller. ... show more

  • Fantastic snowshoes
Size: 23.5-Inch Color: Red
I had a pair of TSL aluminum frame snowshoes, and I loved them for the easy bindings. Instead of those rubber straps that are hard for me to manipulate with cold hands, TSL snowshoes have a ratchet binding similar to a snowboard binding. That alone made TSL snowshoes my choice. Having somewhat of a shoe fetish that apparently extends to snowshoes, when I saw this hyperflex version I had to try it and I am glad I did. I hike on uneven terrain and the flex is a great feature. And the toe bindings are even better than the ones on the earlier TSL models. My husband is now looking for new snowshoes, and he will go with these or possibly the new Hiker model that TSL has introduced. The only problem is we can't quite tell the difference between the Elite and the Hiker, even after looking at TSL's website. ... show more

  • Excellent Snowshoes, the flexibility is the best part.
Size: 23.5-Inch Color: Red
Tried these snowshoes because I wanted to try something different than the Atlas ones I had just returned to REI due to them kicking up a blizzard when walking. These TSLs are absolutely perfect. I love that they flex, which makes it easier to be more active on them and get great grip. I had a blast this winter walking/running around some flatter trails in the Cascades. I picked them up late in the season, so didn't get to use them as much as I would have liked, but I'm really looking forward to putting these guys through the paces next season! Wearing these made me feel more energized in a way due to how fun and responsive they are. ... show more

  • Superior fit, adjustability and traction
Size: 23.5-Inch Color: Red
Because of the adjustability of the bindings, the fit of these snowshoes is so much easier to manage compared to other snowshoes, such as Tubbs and MSR Ascend, that it is remarkable. Even though these light snowshoes weigh just about the same as other lightweight snowshoes, their flexibility makes them seem lighter. And they are certainly easier to manage over varying snowy to icy terrain. Instead of snowshoeing being a chore on a winter hike, it is actually a joy. Now I know why Europeans love this French-designed snowshoe. We own pairs of Tubbs, MSRs and Redfeather snowshoes, but these are now a part of our go-to winter hiking equipment. ... show more
