  • Take your time for great results
Size: 12 Foot
Installed on a 2014 Toyota RAV4 without issue using 12' section. The 12' section was the perfect amount for all (4) doors and the lower lip of the rear hatch with no waste. While the directions for installation are minimal, there are a few things you can do to make it easier. ♦️ Make sure it's at least 60 degrees before installing it. This makes the molding more pliable and easy to maneuver around corners, and also helps it to adhere to the edge of the door. ♦️ Place on edge of door while it's still in the large strip and cut the first piece on the shortest door (it's just easier). Then use that as a guide for the matching door on the other side of the vehicle and cut a second piece. Do that for the next door on the same side of the vehicle and again, use that as a guide for the opposite side of the vehicle. You will then have four pieces of the correct lengths by only measuring for two. ♦️ Have a rubber mallet on hand OR be prepared to tightly grip the edge and run a microfiber cloth over it several times gripping on it to make sure that it's adhering to the door. Let it sit undisturbed for 24 hours out of the rain (no car washing either) for 24 hours if possible. ♦️ MOST IMPORTANTLY use rubbing alcohol over the edges of your door to clean off all wax and dirt prior to trying to install this product. Let the alcohol dry fully after the first cleansing and then do it a second time, again letting it dry fully before attempting to install the product. ♦️ Start at the top of the door and pull the 3M (sticky) strip back a few inches at a time as you place the molding into place - firmly clamping with your fingers as you go. Take your time and make sure the bend in the "L" is flush against the edge of your door. Rub out any bumps as you clamp and move down the door. If you take your time and prep the surface, you'll get great results with this product. It's much easier to use than 'U' shaped edge kits and infinitely cheaper than the dealer offerings! ... show more

  • Beats the Heck Out of Other Stuff Flexes Great - STRONG adhesion (Adhesive Promoter Used in prep)
Size: 24 Foot
2 YEAR UPDATE (Dec 2018) - I have never come back to a review YEARS later but I still stand by the review below. It has been more than 2 years since I put this on my car and it is still 100% perfect. I have had a car wash subscription for years and take my car through the automated wash about once a week. And every 8-12 months I polish wax and buff by hand. No issues at all. - At last - I found the right product. I fell for the "other" type of door guard - that 'U' shaped stuff with the adhesive already on it that you just press on to your door.... Yeah, looked good for about 1 week then it started falling off. I finally found this product and I am VERY PLEASED. It was easier to apply than that 'U' shaped stuff.... That other stuff was too stiff and wouldn't bend around the curves of the door. That other stuff recommended using a heat gun to make it more pliable - even that didn't work. With this product it had the perfect amount of flex even around very hard angles and it was applied on a cool 55 degree (F) day. No heat gun needed. There is no doubt that this will stay on. I would not hesitate taking it though a car wash or 'bumping' up against it with my polisher.*** ***(NOTE): I did use 3M Adhesive promoter prior to application - You can buy a single pack (one small sponge is enough for 4 doors before it dries out) for about $6 or a 3 pack for $8 - search for 3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter on Amazon. My 24ft length did a Compact SUV (SCION / SOUL / PILOT) and a Midsize Car (Fusion / Sonata / Accord) THANK YOU FOR THIS PRODUCT! ... show more

  • Very nice touch on 11 Toyota Corolla S
Size: 12 Foot
Awesomeness! * Ease installation. I even had to removed once or twice I had misplaced it in some areas. * Easy to trim. I used a razor blade (box cutter) to shape both ends to ensure proper fitting and look * This was plenty for all four doors, and I had a good portion left, however it was not useful in case of replacing a strip already cut or used. * I have had it installed for over two months now and washed the car and the trim still remains put. * I can see that once I decide to remove it, it can be done very easily and without damaging the car's paint. Obviously a little cleaning will be needed to removed glue residue. One suggestion: since one can only cut one tip when not installed on car, I used the same razor, very very carefully I pressed on it as to NOT hit the car. I tried placing a "safety net" between the trim and the car, but there's very little room to do so as I was trying to get the right length. ... show more

  • Good stuff
Size: 12 Foot
On doors that aren’t one continuous gradual curve, ie with sharp contours or angles near the rockers, it’s going to be hard to get it to Stick at the sharp angle or sheet metal curve. The u shaped auto parts store ones will initially do that easily because they hug both sides of the door. You can bend them along the entire door at every angle and they’ll go on. These will past longer but to do so they require the tape to have good surface contact. Better off cutting it, leaving a gap at sharp angles, and starting a new strip. ... show more

  • Looks great on a black Town Car! Couldn't be more pleased with results!
Size: 18 Foot
The 18 foot roll was plenty to do all 4 doors with some left over. Was easy to apply. Chose a cool day to do this project. Cleaned edge of doors with alcohol right before applying the edging. Using a hair dryer to warm it up made the edging more pliable and easier to shape to the curves. Also used some small spring clips to hold in place on the curves and bends of the doors, left them in place for about 15 minutes to ensure a tight bond. The gloss finish works perfectly with the paint, doesn't change the 'lines' of the car at all...blends right in. Am very pleased with the end result and don't have to worry so much about chipping the paint! 2018 UPDATE: Still looks great on car. Door was severely damaged in a parking lot but edge was still perfect. Highly recommend! ... show more
