The media could not be loaded. This safety harness rope set is a great product for many uses. It provides 150 feet of rope slack capacity, which is plenty for most any application. The rope is super strong with reinforced layers and braiding so you have peace of mind. The weight capacity is 310 pounds. It comes with thick metal hardware that's integrated with the safety harness system. The locking mechanism is intuitively designed for easy operation and it has safeguards to protect from accidental releases. You literally have to push down on the lower end of the clip before it will open, which is a great safety feature. The hardware can withstand 3600 pounds according to the specs. It also comes with two very strong still snap hooks that connect to whatever equipment you use to anchor the rope. It has a spring switch that locks on both sides and the specs indicate a minimal break strength of 5000 pounds. In the event of a fall, this rope is designed to absorb the shock. There's many uses for this product. Although this is technically a roofing tool but it can also be used for climbing, or really any other activity that requires you to be in the air or at high altitudes with the risk of falling. ... show more

This is a very good product, the rope and hooks are extremely thick and heavy, far thicker than I expected. That is a good thing for safety, I'm not concerned about the safety of this rope at all. And the hooks and hardware are much more secure than competitor's. So I believe it's a good, quality product. But the shock absorber has some issues, mainly in explanation. When it comes to tree or rock climbing, safety is important and we buy things for peace of mind. This company had good idea for an energy absorber to soften the shock of falls but it actually adds concern by mentioning it adds 20 feet or so before it stops your fall. All of this is not explained very clearly and adds concern to using this product. So I actually opened the shock absorber to examine it and find it adds about 2 meters, when fully extended. It would be a good safety feature, that hopefully no one will have to use, but should have been explained more clearly. It adds to safety, but causes doubt on the part of consumer. But despite the lack of explanation and concerns, the rope and hardware itself is very high quality and reliable, and will be extremely useful. If I need more climbing rope, I would trust this company more than others. ... show more

I have a bunch of trees that I will be trimming that are high up off the ground. I used this a few times already when I was up in the tree, and it does provide a peace of mind knowing that I will not fall all the way to the ground if I do fall. The rope is thicker than I expected, the hooks are heavy duty with a double latch feature so there won't be any accidental opening of the hooks. As of now (knock on wood) I have not had to use the rope grab so I cannot elaborate on that. However, if on the rare occasion that I do end up testing that out by mistake, so long as I can type I will come back and edit this post with how the rope grab worked! ... show more

The safety harness lanyard will be used whenever I'm up high over 10 ft. It'll be in combination with a body safety harness. I hope I will never test the breaking strength of the rope. I do like the mutiple layers sewn terminations -

    • Works only for very high falls

I got this to use for roof work and tree climbing. It won't work for either of these tasks for me without modifications. It has a very long shock cord that pulls out of a one use plastic housing if the person using it falls. The trouble is that it requires 20+ feet of height for it to be effective. Otherwise you may still hit the ground before being stopped. Many houses are less than 20 feet high and most falls from trees are from less that 20 feet. The rope and hardware for this safety lanyard are extremely robust and I would trust my life to them. However, I will remove the energy absorbing device from this setup and replace it with a short length of rope. I would rather be caught after falling 2-3 feet without the energy absorber that to fall several more feet and maybe be saved by an energy absorber. ... show more
