Description

Triple 8’s Wristsaver Wrist Guards for Skateboarding is protective gear that provides wrist support and uncompromising wrist protection and are a great accessory to go with any Triple 8 helmet. The wrist savers let you skate hard and fall harder, offering suitable hand protection for skateboarding, roller skating, and snowboarding. Incorporating high-density, impact-resistant, replaceable ABS splints on the front and back for support, shock absorbing EVA foam for cushioning, and tough, 4-way stretch nylon mesh, the wristsavers have a snug but comfortable fit. Available in two styles: the Wristsaver I: Strap Closure has a butterfly strap design with 3 hook-and-loop straps to customize fit, while the Wristsaver II: Slide On Sleeve has a nylon mesh sleeve and utilizes a single hook-and-loop strap for easy on-and-off. Available in four sizes to fit kids, youth, and adults: Junior fits 6–7 in (15.5 cm-18 cm), Small fits 7–8 in (18 cm-20.5 cm), Medium fits 8–9 in (20.5 cm–23 cm), Large fits 9–10 in (23 cm–25.5 cm). Buying these a second time. I took several hard falls at speed in these skating around my neighborhood and my hands and wrists were fine every time - was able to just get back up and resume my workout as of nothing happened. I skate fairly seriously, 7-14 kilometers per workout over uneven gravel and pavement. Not only do the guards save the wrists but they absorb enough of the shock for me to avoid stress injuries in the elbows and shoulders too. The only thing I’d say is if you are doing stuff where an occasional fall is inevitable, like what I’m doing, I’d wear some cycling gloves or something underneath to protect the areas of the palms these guards don’t cover. Despite doing great at saving me from any serious injuries, I’ve scraped up the exposed areas of my hands in these when I fell in the past, even though the scrapes were minor, it’s just something to consider if you’re wearing these and know you’ll be taking some spills. ... show more

So, so, so very grateful for these. I was going down a hill too quickly when I saw a patch in the asphalt that looked super uneven, and I was afraid I'd lose control of my board going over it. I tried to bail, but managed to crash headlong into the asphalt while going way too fast. I landed squarely on my left wrist and shaved about 1/4" off these wrist savers. My hand and wrist is completely, totally fine. Not a scratch on it, not bruised, and not sore. After I landed on my wrist, I instinctively rolled onto my right side and onto my ribs, which were not so lucky, and are bruised and painful. I can't imagine how torn up/broken/destroyed my hand and wrists would have been without these. I will 100% continue to wear these, no matter what! I am so grateful I had them on, and that they're designed incredibly well so that my fingers didn't even touch the ground. Thank you for making these!! ... show more

A good product, at a good price. My son is 6 and skateboards like a maniac. For perspective, he recently dropped in on a 13 foot vert ramp (and landed the drop in as well as several big kick-turns). He has been using this brand of wrist-guards for about two years now (not one pair, we re-buy them when they wear out) and there is another brand we buy as well here and there depending on availability and need. These work perfect, he hasn't had any problems while wearing them. They last him about 3 - 4 months of regular 3-5 day a week use. For a child who uses them every now and then they could last much longer. I think my son tries a lot more 'crazy' tricks because his padding is so good (high quality knee/elbow pads, wrist guards, and a good fitting helmet), so for kids who want to try out ramps these are a must. I gave them a four because they always wear down in the same spot, the long middle strap that wraps around always wears away before the rest of the guard is too worn for use. Maybe the company can find a way to make this area more durable? Again, great product, price is right, I recommend them. ... show more

These have saved me a few times. I knew these would be the most important tool in my self protection ensemble. My first night riding my electric unicycle my pedal hit the side of speed bump I was going around and I toppled to the ground. I cut one of my right fingers on the pavement and ripped the left elbow of my jacket, but, I didn't break my wrists. I wear leather gloves when I ride now, under my wrist guards. I never use my EUC without my wrist guards. They are getting a little frayed along their hemlines after eight months of use. I will do some hand sewing to repair the seems that are unraveling. . . but for twenty bucks, they've saved me at least twice and I've owned them for nine months, that's not bad. ... show more

I purchased these for my son (16) as he is now learning to Rollerblade. I have broken my wrists several times while boarding and blading, and if I had worn something like this, I would be able to properly use them along with my fingers, now that I'm closer to 50. 😆 I wised up AFTER the 4th time and had bought an amazing set of wrist guards.
