Description

Triple Eight Bumsaver Men's Padded Shorts help to protect hips, thighs and tailbones of skateboarders and snowboarders. But nobody needs to know—these thin impact shorts fit comfortably and discreetly under pants. Engineered in collaboration with professional skaters, the Bumsavers have a heavy duty, ergonomic design made to perform under intense conditions for mobility and flexibility. Made with a lightweight Lycra mesh fabric, these crash pants provide a form-fitting and extra comfortable fit, while the breathable material is quick dry, and won't stick to the skin. Equipped with shock absorbing, 10mm thick EVA foam for increased protection, each pad can be removed from its sewn-in pocket to customize the padding zones. The shorts cover from the waist to just above the knee providing protection for a full range of slams and falls. Pads and shorts are machine washable (wash in cold water and air dry). Triple 8 Bumsaver shorts are available in five sizes to fit kids, youth, and adults: X-Small fits 22–27 inches, Small fits 26–30 inches, Medium fits 29–33 inches, Large fits 32–38 inches, X-Large fits 36–42 inches. Lost my crash pads at Mt Hood in May and purchased the Triple 8 pads. The new pads really saved my butt earlier this month snowboarding at Hintertux Glacier, which was accurately described on the snow report as "very icy ". Pads are comfortable and get the job done.

    • Got these for my husband who is an aggressive rollerblader.

These pads have been an ultimate game changer. My husband is an aggressive rollerblader and these pads have given him the confidence in his 40's to do some of the things he did in his 20's.     • Great pants but somewhat poor finish

Package: - As the package arrived, shorts looked like nicely packed in a mesh bag with top mesh-bag tag, however, the shorts itself did not have any tags(?). I assumed, those have been tried before, this is the most likely reason. Overall pants looked like they were probably tried a few times. Fit: - I tried on the shorts, not really using them, just put them on to wear them for a few minutes and try with different kind of pants/shorts. They look and fit great under different shorts, including jeans. Totally must have product. Not making you look too bulky, but still giving all the padding you need. Quality & Freshness of product: - Right after first try I got multiple zits on my legs. Surely, I assume, those padded shorts were probably tried multiple times and for whatever reason people decided to return them. As I like the pants and they seemed OK, I decided to wash those, I just wanted to start using them. Of course cold water and a bit of delicate soap. However... - Before washing them I had to remove the padding from the inside pockets. As I was removing the padding it seemed as if somebody was already toying with it, pads had multiple lousy scratches and just seemed a tiny bit worn. Either way, I decided to disregard it, I like the pants, let me wash them, those pants will be beaten up anyways. - As I started washing the pants, unfortunately, I noticed the seams in the crouch to come apart (not because of washing, those holes were already there!), there was one finger size hole through and two other places of approx. 1 inch were seam also was falling apart. Looking in more detail it rather seemed like a fabrication issue, unless somebody was just hammering them on-themselves - Either way, because I've already put the pants into water and I like the pants so much and wanted to wear them next day, I decided to fix them on my own and disregard all the issues I noticed. Disappointed, but believing in my skills I managed to put them together. Summary: - Overall this is a nice pair of padded shorts. However, for a used(!) product $80 is definitely terribly overpriced. Huge disappointment that I had to fix those including pads being slightly worn (scratched), but OK, rather somebody with long nails was not doing a good job to put them in. Either way, those pants will be well used, so I decided to disregard those issues and fix them; probably if I did not put them into water I would return them back and bought them from some other place. I hope they don't fall apart. - I would give those pants 5-star score, but because of all the issues, just generally looking like slightly worn, I give 3-starts and overall their quality - except the holes - earns them 3-starts. Overall rating: great shorts so far. Message to seller: Before sending, please check the pants if this is a quality product or if you sell a used product please provide a discount. $80 for looking used shorts seems a bit too much. The media could not be loaded. As you can see in this video, I hit a wooden lip with my rear-end. The pad that traverses my cheeks saved me. I wear these under Dickies slim-fit shorts. I machine wash (and dry) them every week, and haven't had any issues. I'm so glad I have these. They prevented me from being ripped a new one. ... show more

Been skating for about a year, also I'm old. I wish I had known this product was around before I skated my first ramp. I went down hard on my hip and was left bleeding and bruised. These would have prevented or lessened the injury. They hide pretty well under shorts or pants, they are comfortable and the padding is nice. I wish there was more padding on the tailbone area and in a couple of other crucial spots but it's essential gear. I think I might try some other brands with a different padding set up but they do work, so you won't go wrong. I wear them whenever I'm trying something new or hitting the skate park. Gives me confidence and helps lessen the pain if I do fall. ... show more

    • Super helpful for staying confident during training sessions. Not perfect, but pretty good

I've used these for ice skating and park skating. Great for helping me feel safe really pushing myself during training and making riskier moves. While park skating, these have definitely been extremely helpful for cushioning falls but due to the more dramatic falls their impact is reduced. I've noticed that they lack sufficient protection in a couple spots around my hips, which is really unfortunate because they're great in other areas and I kept falling in the same place on my hips :( Overall pretty good, but if you have a more feminine body shape around your waist and hips, I would definitely recommend getting the Triple Eight RD Bumsavers. They fit a female waist SIGNIFICANTLY better, though they're much shorter so lack outer thigh protection that this model provides. ... show more
