  • Awesome Product but has a few things that could be improved.
Size: Trio Max - 14" Screen Color: One Monitor
These monitors are FANTASTIC but I had to implement Velcro to get them to work. My lap top has a powered cord source to the rear of the system. This butts against the base of the monitor. If you have a side power - you'll be fine. The cost was a bit high. I've been told that there are thinner screens available from others who have commented on my set up. Overall I'm very satisfied but had to make a few modifications to get it to work for me. These are plastic so you need to be careful not to snap/break components. I will be fabricating another device here in the near future to get the units aligned/taught/secure. ... show more

  • Heavier than anticipated. Keeps falling off
Size: Trio Max - 14" Screen Color: One Monitor
While the value of this is worth it the screen and the holder it comes in are heavier than anticipated and if not installed correctly can slip off easier than you'd expect. I would recommend the company invest in a kickstand along the back to resolve this and I'm sure this will be perfect!

  • Exactly what I needed
Size: Trio- 12.5" Screen Color: One Monitor
Before COVID, I spent a lot of time working way from a desk – at hotels, in coffee shops, outside on the porch, in bed – and I found it very difficult to have only one tiny laptop monitor. To supplement, I used a combination of an iPad and/or USB monitor clipped to my laptop (I used the Mountie+ by Ten One Design) or mounted on a stand. That worked well enough, but it was quite cumbersome to put together every time. When Mobile Pixels came out with its first generation duel monitor, I considered getting it. I also considered the SideTrak. However, I decided to wait because brand new products tend to be a little temperamental. I have friends who were early adopters, and they mentioned issues with heat and inconsistent performance. I am pleased to report that I haven’t identified any problems with the TRIO. The screen is crisp and clear. The casing is stable – I can move the screen to multiple angles, and even when my laptop screen is tilted back a bit, there are no issues with falling over. This was very easy to attach, and the magnet connection is strong (but doesn’t cause any problems for my computer or the peripherals I keep around my computer). My only complaint is that it is heavy. This definitely adds weight to your bag, so this will not be an EDC item for most people. However, for those who need to work on the go and can’t make do with just one laptop screen, I think this is the best product on the market. I use it every day (including while sitting at my desk), and so far so good. ... show more

  • I Wanted To Love This, But Design Flaws Ruin It
Size: Trio Max - 14" Screen Color: One Monitor
I thought I had found the solution to all of my remote work woes, but sadly it didn't last long. I don't have a set workspace or desk, but need a second screen so I thought this would be the best solution since I can attach it and detach it based on my work set up for the day. Unfortunately, the key mechanism of attaching the screen to the computer is flawed. The magnets used are incredibly strong, but the sticky adhesive used to keep the magnets on the back of the screen and on the computer are simply not strong enough to handle the strength of the magnets. After a little while, the magnets rip off from the adhesive (on both my laptop and the screen itself) and causes it to fall off. Obviously, this is less than ideal and causes a major disruption throughout the work day as I have to try to catch it before it comes crashing down to the floor. They do provide additional sticky adhesive dots, which is nice, but I've already replaced the adhesive on all 4 magnets on my laptop and on the screen itself once, and now all four need to be replaced again. Within less than a year I've went through the stock adhesive, and two additional rounds of replacement adhesives. For a $300 screen, this just shouldn't be the case. The quality for the price just isn't here. Even the wires are cheaply made. The USB cord is bent inside the wire casing and even though it still works, every now and then, the screen disconnects and reconnects while I'm in the middle of something. It only lasts a second, but is still annoying and it causes a slow down in overall productivity. Do I want to love this? Yes, but I don't. Is it worth the money? No, you can find cheaper alternatives out there that work just as good. Would I buy it again? Probably not. ... show more

  • Great Purchase
Size: Trio Max - 14" Screen Color: One Monitor
I ordered two Mobile Pixels Trio monitors. They were the perfect complement for my 17" laptop so that I had adequate real estate to work on the go. When I recieved the first pair of laptops, one monitor was flakey and stopped working all together within the first month. Support was excellent and I received a pair of replacements and a return shipping label because their are two versions of the monitor with no hassle. The new monitors work great and I am happy with my purchase. The magnet system to keep the monitors on the laptop works well as long as the laptop is on a table. My laptops is able to power both monitors through the USB ports and I disconnect, shut down and start up every day with no issues. The drivers work great and the configuration is always the way I left it. Things that I would like to see improved. 1) The USB cables that come with the monitors are too long. This makes for a messy workplace and I would like to see a shorter cable. 2) When the monitor are stowed and not on the laptop, the case does not cover the entire monitor surface. This leaves the monitor exposed and subject to damage. ... show more

  • Nice product but definitely doesn't fit 17 inches as advertised
Size: Trio Max - 14" Screen Color: One Monitor
I really wanted to love this product. Having a slide out screen for my laptop on the go sounds like a dream. Unfortunately, that dream very quickly became a nightmare. I picked this particular one since it said that it also fit 17 inch laptops. Installation was simple, and the display is quite nice. Unfortunately, the fact was that no matter how I arranged the one monitor, there was always a good chunk of it hidden behind my laptop lid. Not to mention it slid off of the magnets if I wasn't careful. I kept fiddling with it but eventually I just need to toss in the towel as upsetting as that is given how much the monitor cost. Now I just need to get the magnets off my laptop lid. ... show more
