Looks like the photo so you get what you see. 1 board had a chip about the size of my thumb nail on the top side (of course) so i put it on the bottom towards the back & it’s not as noticeable. The black metal also has scratches in a few places but I don’t notice any damage now that it’s put together. Also the nuts have the wrong letter on the package so it took a second to figure out what the picture meant (pic attached). Wasn’t hard to put together but I made a mistake by not making sure the side panels both had the middle connector holes so I had to take one apart then reassemble correctly.

Bought this for our office, and was a little hesitant to without any reviews. Took a chance anyways and am SO glad I did! This is a gorgeous piece that is industrial and chic. It could really go either way. The assembly was a bit hard with the directions being vague, and we ended up putting the side pieces in incorrectly and had to disassemble (the middle attaches the sides) so just watch out for that. Very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight. We love it!

Poor quality, can’t answer about assembly because I paid to have it assembled. It looked horrible and would never hold books without tipping over. I tried to return it and the seller refused to pay for return shipping which tells me they know their product isn’t worth anything. Do not buy this bookcase and do not buy anything from this seller.

This product looks great, overall. Putting it together wasn't particularly difficult. One of the support brackets had the holes for the shelf on the wrong side of the shelf support -- it was for the right side of a middle shelf, which sits on top of the supports, whereas the outer shelves do not, they connect into the side of the shelves. I had to put a bracket on it to hold it in place on that support. Luckily it isn't noticeable from a casual distance. If people were putting this together and only had the tools included with the shelves, this shelf would not be attached on one side. As it is, I had to drill into the metal with self-drilling metal screws, and put some small wood screws into the shelf part. Thankfully I had extra screws, brackets, etc., from other past projects so I was able to fix it myself instead of waiting to receive a new part. Pros: It is very lightweight. Minimal tools needed to put it together (other than noted in con section). Looks stylish and clean. Adjustable feet in case you need to level the overall unit. Pretty sturdy once it is put together. Nice distance between shelves. Packed very well, with foam or the foam sheets between pieces, so the few small scratches and chips were most likely not due to shipping. Cons: Wobbly when you are putting it together. No way to keep it sturdy while putting it together. Holes in wrong side of shelf support. A few shelves has tiny to small-ish chips on the sides and tops. Most were able to be placed in a lower position or with the chips towards the back or bottom. Some of the metal pieces had scratches in them, but most aren't that noticeable because I was able to point them towards the back. The x-frame cross beam supports aren't as sturdy as you want them to be. The x-frame cross beam supports also have to be bent some for all the holes to line up. The shelves aren't completely level because of the way the screws and holes/hole size are. Don't get this if you are anal about things being level. Over 100lbs weight in shipping box, so you will probably need help getting it inside. Overall, I like it, but it could be better and there is room for improvement in QC and handling prior to shipping, as other reviews mentioned both the incorrect holes defect and chips/scratches.

Everyone loves this bookshelf when they come in. it’s unique and big! I put this together alone and it took me a couple times of taking it apart after I had already put it together to get it finalized. Which was super frustrating. You read the instructions and you’re like oh yeah of course it goes that way but then you get to putting it together and put the x braces on the wrong side because the middle shelves can only be screwed into specific holes already made.

This Book shelf is a piece of carefully engineered art!. Each part fits perfectly, as the Devil they say is in the details. The manufacturer has done a fantastic job on tolerance measurements, down to the last brace, screw and nut. Metal and wood material is sturdy and strong. Buyers should read manual and be attentive to the slots for the screws while assembling to avoid errors that may take up to 20mins to correct. I recommend full assembly on the floor before picking it all up in once piece to stand. The other recommendation I have is that the manufacturer should make the Screw driver a little shorter in order to fit perfectly in the space available while coupling the final 10% of the screws in the middle shelves. Other than this, it is a beauty to behold once assembled. Simple and Classic. It stands proud at the entrance to my living room! I LOVE LOVE!

This is our 2nd shelf! We got the first one when the pandemic started to hit and I realized I needed more books and thusba bookshelf for my SIP kids. The 1st shelf had some shipping issues due to COVID but we're soon solved by the friendly customer service. THERE ARE TWO PACKAGES; they might arrive separately (my case for both selves). I love how study & sleek these shelves are, and they make the house look a lot more updated than it is. Very satisfied with purchases. The oy reason I'm giving it 4 stars is bc the 2nd shelf's quality isn't as good as the 1st one (according to hubby who put both together). Still, they're are really good quality shelves for the price!
