I had to take this apart a couple times before it was totally finished because there are a few bars where it's easy to mix up which side they go on. Other than that it was very easy for one person to put together. It does come with safety straps to attach it to the wall which I will do tomorrow because I'm too tired now. It is surprisingly sturdy, in fact it was pretty sturdy before I put all of the gold screws in that keep the wood on. They're really not necessary as far as I can tell but I do like the look of them and it makes me feel better about the sturdiness. I also adjusted the legs so that the front legs are longer than the back legs to make sure it wouldn't tip forward. All together it's very nice looking. It did arrive 2 days earlier than expected as well. For some reason I was thinking that it was only supposed to be 5 ft tall but I'm pleasantly surprised that it's taller. The only thing I wish is that it came in a gray color instead of the brown because most of my furniture is ashy colored.

The shelf is metal but the instructions are confusing if you don't play close attention to details when assembling. The pictures are difficult to decipher and size screws not clearly marked where they go, so you accidentally use the incorrect parts and have to remove and reassemble a lot if you lack attention to detail. After a while of making mistakes I just decided to use common sense and intuition to figure it out on my own since the assembly instructions are useless. One cross bar on my set had a screw hole drilled in the wrong place so it did not line up but it was a top shelf. I did not want to drill and scratch the metal and had to use a black marker to cover scratches. I figured the rear bar would support enough with an extra long screw and the multiple side screws. My product was for piano trophies so they are light and weight would not be an issue.

So for starters I was able to put this up mostly myself with a busy toddler running around. The instructions are pictures only which is a little annoying. I had to contact customer support because a few holes weren’t lining up. But it was my error…I need to flip a few boards and flip a few bars. I wish the instructions would tell you which hole to a line and be more specific. But customer support was very helpful and quick to respond! Kudos to you guys for sure! The product is sturdy enough that we haven’t put the safety straps on yet and it’s j just fine. Definitely going to put them on soon! We are thinking of buying another one soon. Also please don’t tighten your bolts down at the beginning because trust me you are going to be unscrewing a lot! We have a few scratches because of that error. But definitely a great purchase!

The instructions are minimal, very ikea-esk but make sure you check where it says to have the screw holes (I had to take it apart and redo steps so many times because I didn’t pay attention). Once built, the piece looks great, is very sturdy, and is super stable even on uneven carpet. You can adjust the feet to make it sit straight.

Horrible. There were scratches. The instructions suck. I got halfway through building it and realized what a piece of junk this thing would look like in my house so I took it apart and put it back in the box. Returning it easy? NO. You have to take this heavy box to ups otherwise you’re just out of luck. I was tempted to just drag it to the curb for trash day. I workout and this thing is heavy!!! Don’t purchase, it looks cheap and is a pain to return.

I really like the unit once complete. The instructions were confusing, actually a little misleading. I had to take it apart a couple of times because the screw holes didn't line up with the boards, despite the diagram suggesting the holes be at another height etc.

Overall, now that it is installed and up, I’m thrilled with this item. But, the installation was quite frustrating and angering. Let me start off my stating that I am not a fool to this at all. I’m a 43 year old who spent 10 years as a carpenter. I just purchased a home a month ago and have had to build almost everything inside of it! Benches, beds, other furniture, the shed out back, etc. i also have 4 kids! So I can’t tell you the amount of things I have had to assemble. Now that that’s out of the way, let me say, this was by far the worst set of instructions I have ever seen. For a piece that has a tons of pieces, instructions was one and a half pages of pictures. NO WORDS! It really does seem easy enough too. You begin to build it thinking “wow I will be done in no time. All the bars look identical and are numbered the same! Great! BUT somewhere around step 4, you start realizing things aren’t lining up. You realize those bars that looked identical, aren’t and the holes are just a little off. No, not a manufacturing issue, but you put one of the bars upside down even though it didn’t seem like you could do that. Lol. Long story short and MANY back steps and removals of pieces….I finally got it. But take my word…. MAKE SURE WHEN YOU PUT TWO BARS UP THAT THEY ARE IN DEED FACING THE SAME DIRECTION! PLUS, get a magnifying glass so you can look at the crappy instructions and figure out exactly where the holes should actually be before putting anything up. Plenty of other assembly drawings even have the little line of dots or dashes showing you, “this hole should go here”. That was too much work for a company who also couldn’t write little instruction underneath each picture. They DID however, write at the beginning “don’t tighten screws all the way”! Actually QUITE USEFUL information as all the way toward the end, I had to really wedge the last two bars which seemed like it wouldn’t fit in. And only way to do that is for the screws that hold other pieces in to be loose so you can use your 200lbs of weight to bend a 1” thick piece of wood enough to wedge those bars in! Rant over! You’ll love the end product. Just try not to cuss as much as I did!
