As I start a new career from home, I was in need of a new desk. A full office area that was appeasing to the eye but functional as I do not have a designated room in the house for an office, it is integrated in the living room. But with this desk, it looks really clean and nice. I love that it does not wabble, it is a strong standing desk. One with ample space and a place for my printer. This desk is all of that and more. It is sturdy, strong, and beautiful. The Black and Walnut wood complement each other. It exceeded my expectations, especially for the price. It took me roughly 2 hours to build the desk, and 4 hours to build the smaller side piece. The smaller side piece was missing 9 little black screws that I needed to get it all put together- so that was kind of a bummer. But I was able to go to an ace hardware down the road and purchase the 9 screws I was missing for $1.80 so it wasn't a huge deal. While this desk is perfect, and I am very happy with it... Lets pick it apart... If I could pick apart a few things, they would be..... 1. A shelf in the "closet" door area would be a wonderful addition. It is a huge empty space and I don't quite know what to put in there that would fill the spot to its fullest potential. As of now I have extra printer paper and ink in there. A shelf would have been great to break it up and make it more functional. 2. I really REALLY wish it had a under desk drawer. Not like a big ol drawer or anything crazy, but it would be nice to have paper clips, pens, scissors. I found some drawers you can add onto desks, but unfortunately because of the lip on the under neath side they wont work with this desk. I guess if I had one more complaint - really just picking the desk apart now - I wish it had a hole for the cords of a computer. Overall I am happy with this purchase. The desk and cabinet are great, exactly what I was looking for in terms of size, sturdiness, and quality. I can fit 2 monitors and 2 laptops fine with room left over and more for the keyboard, mouse, and other knick-knacks, along with some writing space. The cabinets also very roomy and expands storage space greatly. The assembly instructions were very clear and took me about 3 hours to put together everything by myself. The only issue was with shipping. I received just the desk first and was irritated to think that they'd left out the cabinet like another reviewer had mentioned. This would mean I would have to file a complaint with them and then have to return the desk if they weren't helpful. However, they got back to my complaint fairly quickly the next day to let me know that the desk and cabinet are shipped out separately because they're both very heavy. Something about wanting to minimize problems during delivery as much as possible. Lo and behold, I received the cabinet the same day that I received the response. If this is standard practice for shipping, it would be nice to have this information somewhere on the product page so as to minimize confusion ahead of time for the buyer. ... show more

The desk was super easy to assemble, the hutch, not so much. The assembly instructions are drawings with no written words. Several of the drawings are wrong regarding the hutch. Specially how the rails for the drawers attach. The furniture is nice, but look really good and are very functional.

The assembly was easy but did take some time. The quality of the product is great. Love the colors and soft close hinges on the door. If I had any suggestions on how to make this even better, I would recommend to the manufacturer to use ball bearing for drawers. They are a bit noisy and if you have heavy files the bottom drawer falls out when opening the drawer completely to access files in the back. ... show more

File Cabinet - The holes were drilled incorrectly and had to purchase brackets to place in the shelves to ensure the shelves don't drop in the back corners. The files brackets to pull the drawers out do not work nor do the drawers sit or lay correctly. Most likely going out again to buy the corrct or something to make it work. screw holes that were needed per the instructions not there and had to create them DESK -- Again holes incorrectly placed and had to figure out how to assemble and buy additional parts to ensure it stays together or there were no holes but should be per the instructions. Extremely disappointed especially for the cost and now trying to decide what to with stuff. Waste of my gift cards and amazon points. ... show more

The diagrams are missing parts to assemble and the instructions are incomplete. The desk look great BUT the black insert in the middle was scratched up the first couple days by the (padded foot) keyboard. We ended up touching up the scratches with black shoe polish and painted it with polyurethane.

It took over 10 hours to assemble. Instructions were not always clear, one step did not identify which screws to use. The instructions don't call out to attach some of the parts so that it is facing a certain way. The diagrams are pretty small and difficult to see these details. After inserting the drawers, even though they feel they were in the tracks correctly they sit crooked. I have contacted customer service. I will update based on their response. Also, extra parts provided that are not in the instructions so confusing as to why they were included. ... show more
