One of the most attractive and high quality bookcases I have bought in DIY category. The instructions were good and it was easy and straightforward to put together. The instructions recommended two people, but it was not difficult for this 130 lb older woman to put it together myself. The color is a little cooler than I had hoped, since much of my furniture and woodwork is a warm dark oak. But it matches perfectly with my downstairs flooring. I put this together today. It was pretty simple and I love the color. I thought it would be a little more solid than it is, it is a bit wobbly. I did choose to put it together without the backing as i bought it specifically because adding it was optional, but I think it would be a bit more stable with it. I just wanted it to be a bit more stable than it is, that is why I gave it 4 stars. You can see without the backing it is tilting slightly to the right. Looks good, seems solid. The parts to assemble were difficult, but it went together. My only real complaint is how the wood was cut, and the durability of the fake wood veneer. The outer surface was covered with the veneer, but you can tell it was covered before it was cut. The cross section has to veneer or seal. I'm afraid the veneer is going to peal in time. In the image you can see the veneer on the outside of the cut, but the inside is bare compressed particle board. ... show more
