The “bookshelf” itself is sturdy and easy to assemble. The quality of the shelves is stronger than the average. As far as using this for just books, not the best idea. I have two daughters and we have all kinds of books. If you will use book end supporters to protect your books from falling on all the shelves than it should work but without them, the books fall down. It’s great for a few books.

Solid shelves, instructions were ok, but not overly detailed. For the people who said hard to assemble, you should probably hire someone. I bought 2 units and took about an hour to put both together. The unit is solid and sturdy. For the people who said cheap and flimsy, what do you expect, welded custom shelves?

This is the dirtiest item I have ever received. Box was covered with some material, all parts covered with some type of dirt or dust. Plan on taking a bath and washing your clothes after assembly. The instructions are not very clear. Line up the cross bar holes before attaching main supports together or you'll find yourself taking it apart and reconfiguring it. The shelves are attached with screws into pre-drilled holes with plastic inserts to thread the screws into. Tighten the screws just barely enough or the plastic threads will strip easily. The shelves that are engineered wood have some coating on them that made me sick when handling them. Beware if you have allergies. Having said all that, they are nice looking. I will measure the formaldehyde level next.

Gave this 4 stars because it’s an all black shelving unit and for some reason they choose to send gold screws that stick out like a sore thumb. Tried reaching out to vendor for black replacement screws but have had no luck. Other than that it is the perfect unit being sturdy, well made and fits my size needs. It’s narrow enough to fit in a space that leads into a hallway without being an obstruction. It will be used for collections and holiday displays. After searching for months this unit was one of the most reasonable price units available. I highly recommend it.
