I’d like to start off by saying I LOVE how these shelves came out and it was well worth the gamble based on the sketchy reviews in my opinion. But don’t get me wrong, there are definitely a couple annoyances about them… 1. Like someone else said, the frames are metal and that is not listed anywhere in the description so buyers beware! I personally like them a little more knowing they’re metal. Makes them just a bit more durable than if it was a skinny wood frame. The shelves themselves are pressed wood though. 2. The instructions are NOT easy to understand and I typically fly through furniture assembly like these. During assembly, the two side pieces (that look like small ladders) were not in the correct orientation so I had to almost completely disassemble and then reassemble the correct way, and there are a lot of screws! I thought I was given a defective item like a few other reviewers thought, but after a moment of staring at it pissed off I realized I must of messed up somewhere. So before assembling these shelves, put both the side pieces together and compare the shelf heights and THEN screw everything in so you don’t make the same mistake. It took twice the amount of time it should have taken me to do all this. 3. Not really an annoyance but something to point out which also adds to my second point, one of the reviewers stated there was a “rock hard adhesive” that blocked their shelf from being screwed in. That person put the side pieces (small ladder looking ones) upside down! Not a defective product!! Those bumps are where the metal was melded together and are supposed to go on the underside of the shelves. Again, don’t make the same mistakes me and the others did!! To sum this all up, I think these shelves are worth the price and they are very pleasing to the eye even though they aren’t actually wood. The only downside is the assembly but once you’re done with that you are left with a pretty great product. And sadly these probably aren’t purchased as much because the reviews are so scattered with opinions. Would definitely recommend these to others!!

So I was really surprised when I ordered these. I thought it was getting a mostly wood bookcase but what I got was a mostly metal bookcase with some wood shelves. The bookshelves are pretty heavy and they do come with fasteners to fix them to the wall. I will say I was a little surprised when I first got them but I've actually really come to love them and when people have seen them they really compliment me on my setup. Dave really grown on me and I like them I love the very open nature of them because I use them to hold my plants and so I have quite a few plants that trail off the sides and off the front and back and a plant that I'm vining up one of the rails. It's grown on me and I would absolutely recommend it even though it's not what I thought I was buying. I'm moving to a new place and these will absolutely be coming with me and may continue to be a focal point to hold my plants.

Directions are trash! It is made of a metal frame with wooden shelves and it turned out nicer than I expected. Starting to assemble from the bottom to the top and once I got to the top shelf I realized one of the holes was too small for the screw. I needed to buy a Tap in order to expand the hole. It’s holding up great though.

Don’t waste your money! Very cheaply made/ cheap looking product. Does not look like photos… The pictures make it look wood but it is not at all. The structure is metal wrapped in a plastic material in a print that looks like wood grain. The actual shelves are super cheap particle board. Returning is VERY expensive and difficult. Customer service is not helpful

Bought two of these. First one went together fine but there was a screw missing which was annoying. Second one is majorly defective as it’s like the glue or some sort of rock hard adhesive is making it so the shelves can’t lay flat. One shelf is so bad I can’t even get the screw one two ends to tighten even a little bit. It’s so big that returning it would be too much of a hassle at this point. Buyer beware that even a little bit more of a quality inspection would have changed my rating to 5 stars

The media could not be loaded. I ordered 2 of these shelves for my mother, not only were the shelves delayed for days (Amazon not upholding their prime agreement) but when I unbox and assemble its defective. Shelves 2 and 3 do not align at all. I had to build support tiers from the cardboard that came to protect the shelves edges even it out. Please look at the pictures I uploaded. The shelf is nice but there were multiple misses from both Amazon and the seller.
