Update 10/17/13 These sheets are STILL amazing after many washings because I can't even make myself use the other sheets I own. They are far inferior to these sheets. I need to order another set. They feel wonderful after a hot bath at the end of a long day. Why is it so difficult these days to find sheets that are 100% cotton, NOT SATEEN finish, NOT microfiber, NOT blended with polyester, with an acceptable thread count (more would be better but this is at least adequate) in colors other than white? Seriously, for the past 18 months I have been searching for these sheets. I've purchased a few sets of other types of sheets but they were never the right feel. THESE sheets...in cotton percale...they are just the right thing. I intend to buy more in other colors. They feel WONDERFUL against my skin when I get into bed at night. They wash up nicely, they seem durable so far (we will see what I'm saying a year from now.) The color is perfect. They fit my mattress well, very deep pockets. And the elastic around the bottom of the fitted sheet is wide and flat and strong, quite different from all the other sheets I own. Some of my friends have laughed at me for this long sheet quest I have been on but I have FOUND the answer at last! I think they're really worth the price I paid.     • Pretty good. Crisp and cool percale weave. Closest to Tribeca Living 137252 we can find.
We like our sheets cool and crisp. It is SO hard to find good, thick, super crisp, REAL percale these days without paying $300 a sheet set! Some background: We used to go to Tribeca Living 137252 which they don't make anymore. We have some old sets from probably 20 years ago (or whenever they first started making 137252s). We've tried other brands and even other Tribeca Living models and just never found anything close. Even the last few runs of 137252s we could find were way too soft. It's like everyone wants sateen or terry feel. WAY too hot. I want that feeling of going to grandma's back in the 70s and 80s and those super crisp sheets she had. Some people say those feel like paper. I say they feel cool and crisp on the skin. Refreshing! What a way to sleep. Reading reviews of real percale people complain it's like paper. It's scratchy. They aren't soft. If you want SOFT get a different weave. Percale should be crisp. Cool. Not warm. There are plenty of other weaves. Yet manufacturers have gone to making "soft percale" and they are like a sateen or jersey. It's NOT the percale feel. Gross. We tried linen, which can be crisp and cool, but the set we got just wasn't. Recently I started researching again and after weeks found these. They just sounded like other modern percales using the word "soft". But we were running out of options unless we wanted to spend $200-300. (The Good Sheet Heavyweight Percale Sheet Set was a thought, but they are $200 and a sub-250 thread count worries me about longevity, even for percale.) We just got them in, and they feel fairly good. They aren't super thick but aren't as thin and cheap as others we've tried (even some from Tribeca Living). They aren't those crisp, thick, hotel style, but close enough. The stitching is even better than on the 137252s. The pillowcase opening seems small (and we use thicker pillows), but time will tell. Even out of the box they feel like I would hope they would for this price point. We'll see how they hold up over time (I'll post an update here). The only downside so far is I can't find matching pillowcases to have some extras. I'll keep searching, but if anyone knows where I can get some, please let me know. Also, they just don't come in many colors. White and ivory is all Amazon had and all I could find online for this model. Overall, if you are looking for something at least close to those crisp "grandma's" sheets, under $100, these are probably it. ... show more

    • Grandma's Crisp, cool sheets!

Tribeca Living 100% cotton percale is the absolute best sheet set I've ever had (I have 6 sets now). They are sturdy, crisp, cool sheets - Not flimsy and thin like many percales are. PLUS, They make their pockets extra deep (over 20"). My bed is super thick because we have a topper. It's a problem even with those that claim up to 18". Tribeca Living has phenomenal elastic and extra room for the thickest mattresses. There is absolutely no way these sheets will everyone off at night. They are better than other sheets I've also bought, including Wamsutta, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and Land's End and many more. By the way, these sheets wrinkle because they're COTTON! Percale seems to wrinkle even more. It's not a flaw - it's the nature of cotton. I hate seeing negative reviews about how they wrinkle or they're not soft. Percale will soften with washing. Just give a little time. Don't worry about the wrinkles - you're sleeping on it, not wearing it! These are Grandma's crisp, cool, smooth sheets. I did hours of research to find them! ... show more

As some of the other reviews have indicated under NO circumstances could these sheets be considered "soft". After two washes, one drying outside and one drying in the dryer, they are 'crisp'. Which is nice in the summer months and I will use them for those times for sure. The other negative is that the colour is misrepresented, they are definitely an olive green, not lime as pictured. However, they are a very nice quality sheet, tightly woven and come out of the dryer mildly wrinkled but if you get them out quickly and fold when warm they are nice and smooth on the bed. The fitted sheet has a good deep pocket, I have a 23 inch mattress and it just fit but it did. ... show more
