Not easy to find a synthetic 30w motor oil. My small engines get a lot of tough use and this synthetic motor oil appears to extend engine life and reduces oil related breakdowns. Although a little expensive it’s worth every penny.

5w-30 and 10w-30 full synthetic motor oils are common, but a full-synthetic, straight 30-weight motor oil, required by older air-cooled, small engines , is hard to find if you don’t want to pay $14/qt. for the purple stuff. I like the gallon jug with pull-up pour spout cap.👍🏻 I did not like waiting two weeks for my order to even ship, but I did received it the next afternoon. I see it is “unavailable” again. I don’t why they can’t produce enough to meet demand and keep it in stock! I added about 6 oz. of this Triax SAE 30 full synthetic oil to top off the existing purple SAE 30 full synthetic oil in my 47 year-old Snapper Hi-Vac lawnmower. The oil level was just down to the “ADD” mark on the 18 oz. fill dip stick. With the first cold start, I immediately noticed an increase in rpm at full-throttle! I thought the engine speed governor was stuck or the governor return spring was disconnected or stretched. I checked, and everything was normal. After fertilizing April 20th, with alternating days of sun and rain, the lawn had grown thick & lush to about 5” high since the last 2” mowing a week ago, waiting for the Triax oil to arrive. The mower acted like it was on steroids; it just plowed right through it without bogging as it normally would have before. This Triax oil has doubled the amount of ZDDP (zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate) required for engines with flat tappet camshafts. According to Lake Speed, Jr. (The Oil Geek on YouTube), ZDDP reduces wear, but increases friction, and too much ZDDP will cause corrosive wear, which is counter intuitive and opposite to my experience of: less friction = more power! Whatever’s in this oil, I can’t wait until I change the oil in my mower next Spring to see what 100% Triax SAE 30 oil does. I will also use it in my rototiller and snowblower engines from now on!

Really impressed so far. Really like the easy pour spot and solid close cap. Made the oil change pour easy to control and measure. Have not had many hours of use on the oil yet but seems to function as any other synthetic oil I have used at a good price. I will definitely be using on my zero turn oil changes in the future.

This doesn't smell like any oil I have smelled before. As a kid, we had glue paste in preschool, yes sometimes we would eat it. It was good, and this oil smells just like that. Sorry, I haven't actually put it in my lawn mower yet but it got good reviews and it's one of the few "synthetic" SAE30 oils available. I've already tried Amsoil 10W30 and my mower didn't like it. I've got Royal Purple sae30 in it now but once I drain that out I'll be adding the Triax. I'll write another review on it later. I am currently running the Triax srt 5w30 in my Ecoboost F150 and can't decide how I feel about it yet. However, the engine is not running more quiet like a lot of reviews claimed. I'm very in tune with my truck and if I had to say, I would think this oil runs on the lighter side of a 30 weight.
