This tree bookshelf came carefully packed without any problems. Slightly heavy box because I ordered the tallest version. Each piece was numbered - yes there are 7 #5 shelves - no its not a mistake. For the tallest version, you'll need a long, obstacle free work surface. While assembling the tree, make sure the extra holes are facing the back of the tree. There is one in each tree board to connect to the back board panel. When the backboard panel is assembled; the extra holes in the back of the tree will be slightly off to the holes in the backboard - so don't tighten that back board down until all of the holes are aligned with the screws barely in there. Otherwise, you'll fight with the backboard! Took about 2 1/2 hours to assemble and learn all these lessons - would have taken substantially less time if I recognized those issues before I started! Love the book tree shelf once it was upright.

Very easy to put together and doesn’t take long. I love the look of it and it holds lots of books, but it’s not stable at all. It definitely needs to be anchored to the wall. It comes with an anchor and screw, but I couldn’t use it because my baseboards stick out too far. I’m currently trying to find a different solution. It really needs an anchor strap.

The design is cool. It is too expensive for the quality and assembly. It’s not the easiest to put together and there is little room for error in screwing in the AA screws. There is a decent chance of splitting the frame which I did once even while being careful. If it were $30 I’d be writing how it was worth the hassle. :)

WOW! This is not for a "newbie" to build!!!!! - had I not previously put together an Ikea desk (with the same little illustrations only, no written instructions and bad angles of those illustrations) I could not have done this! This is a game of "Where is Waldo" as to find the little holes on the illustration to see where screws go did not assist in lining up the pieces, so you could ID which way the holes went so piece was properly attached. Also, I put the very bottom piece and triangle pieces together right after the first three pieces were done in step 1, as this greatly help with stability. The images/drawings of pieces need to be done better to show where ALL the holes are on each piece so you understand which side goes where, as this is your only guide in determining if you have the piece correctly placed (up/down & front/back). However, it does look just like the photo and my husband really likes it (his birthday gift).
