This suitcase is the most expensive luggage piece I own (and I own many!), but just the wheels make it worth the (still somewhat ridiculous) price. It doesn’t just roll easily. It also rolls in the same direction you push it without twirling to one side. This is my go to checked luggage for any trip longer than one week. It is very comfortable to use, roomy (wider than most 25 inch suitcases), and sturdy. I often fill it to the brim, and it doesn’t tip or look crooked when it rolls out on a luggage belt at the airport. It comes with two packing cubes (non- compressible) and a laundry bag inside which I sometimes use for wet swimsuits or shoes. Small downsides, but not dealbreakers: The waterproof inside pockets for toiletries along the sides are nice, but too narrow - I would appreciate if they were more roomy/expandable at the bottom for larger bottles. The width of a suitcase may end up being the downside if you need to fit it under European train seats (which I often do, and it sticks out a few inches more than my other 25’ suitcases). It also makes it easier to load over 50 lb (I came close on more than one occasion). I still prefer to take this luggage due to ease of rolling regardless of the weight. It is a handsome pine green color (hard to mistake for someone else’s bag at the airport), has comfortable handles and all the standard features like numerical lock, inside and outside pockets, inside straps, and a small notch on the bottom if you need to pull the suitcase up from the bottom (no need to grab the wheels). The zipper has always been smooth to open and close even under pressure. I’ve used it for over a year and a half, and on at least 15 long-range trips, including flights, cars, trains, boats and bus rides, and the only sign of wear is the mild dirtying of the exterior. I am not one to get attached to things, but this suitcase makes me smile every time I get to use it. ... show more

Ok so I’ve gone full circle with the luggage debacle. Soft vs hard? I really wanted to like hard case luggage….it had crisp clean lines and was available in sooo many gorgeous colors. After some research, I purchased a set of pretty expensive but very popular, highly rated, wear tested and just pretty, hard case luggage in my desired color. I really wanted to love it. After 3 years of use, I have finally determined it’s not for me. There are limitations I didn’t foresee. Long story short, I’ve returned to soft side luggage and this Travel Pro ensemble fits the bill perfectly! It’s attractive, lightweight, roomy, easy to navigate and offered a lot of color options. The price point for these and their reputation for being strong and reliable placed them ahead of many others. I love my purchase…the carry-on, the under seat and mid size. I am back to traveling with a familiar ease. I’m confident this luggage and I will be travel companions for years to come. I gave a 5 star rating due to quality! Great zippers, water resistant, fantastic adjustable handle, etc. I’d give less than 5 stars due to 1) rather than expandable storage space I’d rather have easier access to sections on top. The really tiny pocket is almost worthless 2) the inside straps used to squeeze down your clothes is worthless because there isn’t the adjustable connector on each side of the strap. (Osprey backpack has better straps that you can pull in both sides to tighten. ). These have it on one side so I can’t even tighten. You can only use these inside straps if you stuff your case to the MAX. So I feel I could simply cut these off. ... show more

Look, I know you've got the *other* TravelPro in a different tab right now, and I did too. I sifted through a billion reviews and bought a used Resale edition of this VersaPack. Let's talk about her maiden voyage. Out of the Box: Looks sharp. For those of you who love the clean look of trendy hard-shell cases but crave a soft-sided bag, this is a happy medium. The Desert Sage Green color is dark enough that normal wear and tear shouldn't be an issue, but talk to me in 5 years. You receive the VersaPack packs, which include two shoe bags, one garment bag, and a compression panel featuring two small mesh pouches. There's also a handy dandy zipper repair kit tucked away in the underside of the lid. It's TravelPro. The bag doesn't feel cheap at all, but it doesn't feel particularly luxurious either. And to me, that's ok. No, the paparazzi won't chase you down at LAX with this bag, but it's got enough style you can feel good about wheeling it around your next business conference. What's working: The magnetic wheels are super slick and fairly quiet. Handling between different surfaces and ramps - carrying it like a two-wheel bag - it handles pretty well. There's some weight to the bag, but no need to start lifting weights. The telescoping handle lands at just the right height. I also like the TSA zippers; it's fairly straightforward to navigate. What could be better: Carrying capacity...? Again, this was my first trip with the bag, and I packed for three weeks, including a small toiletry pencil case, a necklace case, a pair of running shoes, a pair of flat sandals, a pair of jeans, some pants, and a medium-sized compression pack of shirts. Packing any shoes other than flats in here requires some serious Tetris-ing. The compression panel helps, although packing something inside the two mesh pouches on the panel adds more bulk it has to compress. Ask me after five years of use with this bag and I've had more time to finesse my packing. One of the exterior pockets is curious. Assuming that you pack to the gills, the small, most exterior pocket can't get much love in there and zip closed. Wanted to put a brick battery for charging and it just wasn't having it -- needed to go in the larger exterior pocket. If you have the money and want to invest in TravelPro's soft-sided, older, more decorated brother, it looks like there are better exterior pockets to be found. But then again, consider how you travel. As a carry-on, I've usually got some personal item resting on top that's more accessible during flight. This pocket isn't a major dealbreaker. Why I got it: A lot of it comes down to money. I'm wary of putting down more than $300 if the reviews for the Premium Elite TravelPro are mixed about basic quality issues that are met with lackluster customer service. And yes, I know that the same customer service applies here. But as a carry-on usually in my control during travel, I'm not too worried about it. ... show more

This is a great buy, a great investment- I like the way the insides of the bag is set up - I’m 73 yrs old and was looking for a light weight, good quality bag and I have found what I need - the size is perfect - it’s easy to handle - I feel this bag will last through many carry on airline trips

I’m loyal to TravelPro. The quality is so great, zippers always open and close smoothly, fabric is tough and strong and resists damage, color is attractive and rolls smoothly. Choose the largest size so two of us can share a single bag cutting down on baggage fees, though I can’t see using this size for a single person. I will have to be wary of how much it weighs when full. It not the lightest weight bag because of the capacity, empty it’s easy to pick up from the floor and put on a taller surface. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase - and it helped that I got it on sale since this brand commands a higher price than other. The quality is worth the price. ... show more

I've had Travelpro travel cases before and love them. This one is no different tho I haven't used it yet. I did try packing it and it feels just as well made as previous one. I had to get this one due to the slightly smaller max size required for carry ons. I'll have to see how it holds up after my upcoming overseas trip in June. ... show more

Great value for price, apparently it is able to handle air/ship travel very well. So far, many trips taken, no zipper or locking problems. Has lasted longer than I expected considering the rough handling it gets.
