Top Amazon Reviews

  • Great bag, one flaw, but (eventually!) excellent customer service to make it right!
Size: Carry-On 21-Inch Color: Ensign Blue
I don't have much to add to L. Belanger's excellent review above. The bag itself is a dream to use - well made, swivels or can be tipped up to use on just 2 wheels and works flawlessly either way. There is plenty of space, and I really appreciate the way the expansion section is designed as it adds significant cubic inches to the overall capacity without compromising the bag's ability to fit in an overhead bin. However ... the cheap plastic wheels are of very poor quality and will degrade, especially if you take this overseas anywhere where the airport flooring isn't polished tile or concrete. Literally 2 days after my 1 year warranty had expired I took a trip to SE Asia and returned home with the above flat spot now worn into the wheels, a consequence of one of them getting stuck and dragged (unbeknownst to me) for a day or two. "No worries," I thought, "I'll just order a replacement set of wheels. It'll cost me $20 for $2 worth of rubber, but I'm happy to do that to keep a $150 bag on the road." So I started to search for replacement wheels. No dice. No one on Amazon sells them, though there are MANY different versions that are almost the same thing (almost meaning useless in this context, as if it won't screw into the same holes, you can't use it). So I wrote Travelpro, asking where I could buy one from them. I was happy to overpay, again, as I didn't want to throw the bag in the garbage and all it needed was a simple replacement (which no specialized mechanical knowledge was required for - it's literally just unscrewing 5 screws). They insisted I take it to their repair center over an hour away. I refused, knowing that I was past the warranty deadline and would be charged for the repair, which would likely cost most of the price of just buying a new one. After several emails were exchanged, they asked for my address - I assumed I had won and they were going to send me a new wheel assembly! A few days later, a suspiciously large package arrived - it turns out they sent me a whole new bag, free of charge, despite me being out of warranty! So, amazing customer service, I have to say, in the end. They definitely made it right. Now if only I could figure out what to do with the other bag - I still don't want to throw it away! ... show more

  • Quality Design, a Bit Small
Size: Carry-On 21-Inch Color: Ensign Blue
Positives: Rolls well, lightweight Negatives: Zipper for the expandable part kept popping open (I probably overpacked it a bit & was zipping it down tight) & separately, I really don't like that the grab handle is on the left as you pull it; fumbled each time I right-handed reached to grab the bag & put it in the airline overhead compartment. FWIW, my left-handed hubby liked that. I used it for a 3 week trip, including 2 weeks in Europe. Easily fit in overhead compartments in SWA in the US, Europe Aer Lingus, and even the dreaded Ryanair. It was a touch smaller than I needed it to be, should have gone a size up but I was worried it wouldn't fit on the airlines. Like it, don't love it. ... show more

  • Amazing how much this holds
Size: Compact Carry-On 20-Inch Color: Ensign Blue
I had to buy a new carry on bag when the airline broke the wheel off my bag. After reading a number of reviews I decided to try a hard sided bag. I narrowed my choice to 2 and bought both. I still couldn't decide so my husband decided to keep this one for himself. We both love our bags and are truly amazed at how much we can pack. We have taken 2 trips with them, one for 4 days and one for a week and we're able to pack everything we needed. They are so easy to glide in the airport and have fit in the overhead bins quite easily. Love both bags. ... show more

  • GREAT FOR 22 INCH SIZE LIMIT
Size: Compact Carry-On 20-Inch Color: Orchid Pink Purple
I needed a 22 inch max size. This was sturdy, the zippers are very good, mesh inside on both sides holds things in place well. The "orchid pink"(really lavender) color is easy to find, different from others's luggage. It is expandable, so that really helped, because it barely held enough things for a summer week long trip, plus a few souvenirs. This is the luggage that flight crews + heavy travelers use. ... show more

  • Excellent Luggage except for the poor quality wheels
Size: Checked-Large 28-Inch Color: Ensign Blue
When we got home from Punta Cana in April 2023 my wife said: “Can you take a look the wheels on our suitcase, they look worn out”. We bought this luggage on Amazon in February 2022. In that 14-month period we used it probably about 4 to 5 times. Originally my wife had picked it out and asked me to look over for approval. I did a fast look and saw that it was rated 4.3 from over 1,000 reviews so I told her it looked pretty good so we bought it. I looked at the wheels after we got back from the last trip. Four of the 8t wheels still looked good but the other 4 were in a delaminated state with some rubber peeling off. One had a noticeable flat spot which looks like the wheel did not turn at one point. After seeing this, I went on Amazon and started looking at the reviews under 5 of 5 and the wheel issue was the most listed item as a shortcoming. I read that the suitcase is guaranteed for 1 year if you register it within 120 days of purchase. There wasn’t any registration info that came with it and we’d be over the limit by 2 months anyway. I looked on Amazon for many hours for replacement wheels. The only way to get double wheels is to purchase the whole assembly which includes the bracket that holds them to the suitcase. Unfortunately, they’re all generic and do not fit any particular brand. On our suitcase, the bracket would have to be the exact height because it fits into a recess and most brands of suitcases have recesses too but in varying heights. There’s a lot of assemblies available but they provide minimal information on the sizes and the mounting holes of the brackets weren’t there on some and the ones that did, where mostly 4 screws and ours is 5 screws. The ones that had 5 screws where in different locations than ours and I had zero confidence that getting an assembly one would fit ours. Even if the original Travelpro wheels were available, there’s no way I would use them unless they had improved the quality of the wheels. Then I started looking at just buying the wheels alone. There are many sizes but I found one that would fit w/o hitting the wheel holder at the top or the sides of the wheel carrier. On Amazon I bought two bags of “OwnMy 50 x 18mm Set of 4 Luggage Suitcase Replacement Wheels, Rubber Swivel Caster Wheels Bearings Repair Kits”. Unfortunately, all the axles than come with the wheels are intended for single wheels at the 4 corners and not double wheels at the 4 corners. They come with two different lengths of axles but they’re nowhere close to being long enough to put double wheels. I was confident that I could make my own longer axles, so I ordered 4 sets that came in his week. These wheels are a very hard rubber vs. the oringal ones that were a soft rubber so I suspect that they’ll last a lot longer. ... show more
