This is my go to travel pack for domestic and international travels everywhere. Security is great, ain't nobody gonna swipe something from this while you're wearing it. A few things to note: Zippers lock on opposite sides of pack, not necessarily that bad, you get used to which side to lock on after a while. The shoulder straps were rather long, I had to cut them, then use flame to sear the ends (they are made of something like nylon and melt). They looked good afterwards. The water bottle "pouch" is rather small and only one one side, the zipper on mine did break probably because I was using a bottle bigger than it was designed for. It's good for a very small, disposable water bottle the kind you can find at airports. And finally, the external, vertical secured slot (for passports, face masks, etc.) is tricky to open. Ain't NO ONE gonna open that thing easy, including YOU. Otherwise, like I said, this is my go to pack. Security is great, it's comfortable and a good size for crap you'd need for a personal item (it's small enough for shoving under the seat in front of you so you can also bring a carry-on bag). The best thing, really though is it's interior design. Wow, tons of places to put crap. 2 zippered pouches (I use these for medicines, mints, loose coins, my battery brick, laptop cables, etc.), one has a key chain+flashlight. Good for your house keys and finding crap on overnight flights. Lots of card slots, some RF-protected. A laptop sleeve that works well with my 13-inch Macbook Pro (including it's own protective cover). Space galore. I shove a hoodie, change of clothes in there, maybe a good novel.

This Travelon Urban backpack is great because of 1. anti-theft, 2. slim lightweight profile and 3. the inside organization. If you are worried about pickpockets this backpack is perfect. All the zippers lock and are very difficult to open if locked! I also love the anti-slash material; it is strong but doesn't make the bag heavy on my shoulder. I felt very safe using this Travelon backpack. Even though this is slim backpack, it holds all my airline stuff - chargers, crossbody, water bottle, Full Size headphones, Kindle, tablet, change of clothes, medicine and snacks! The inside has all kinds of pockets, zippers and the most amazing feature is the Reflective binding and reflective inside zippers so yiou can find your stuff in the dark airplane. Genius idea Travelon!!!

I tried out many backpacks before settling on this one, which was the least expensive of those I considered. It is a nice looking, sleek backpack with lots of room and a padded laptop pocket. I wanted it mainly for the theft protection as I was travelling to a place where we have encountered pickpockets before. No, this does not keep anyone from stealing your bag, but it does keep out casual and opportunistic pick pockets - the most usual type. I took it on the plane as my carry-on. It fits fine under the seat, but I put it in the overhead bin because it contained laptop, coat, three days of things I will need if my bags get lost, and other things I did not need on the long flight. My only complaint is that the straps are ridiculously large and heavy-duty for a pack this small, and the chest strap is just about at my neck. But it works fine, is light, nice looking and has theft deterrance, so it is all good.

I have used it once on travel, it was good. Laptop compartment is a tight fit for a Lenovo T440P, a 14" laptop whose battery protrudes out the rear. Feels like nice materials and seems like a quality build. I did spray it with anti-static spray to hopefully keep it from attracting my pet's hairs. I had a sticky liquid spill in the main compartment and it wiped up easily. The one I have is black; it is ALL black. I added some reflective bling for visibility. I like the hand loop on top; I can add my own handle cushion. It fits the United Airlines personal item size limit of 9"x10"x17". Styling is nice, clean and smooth; appropriate for business. Provided pockets work fine for me; love the pen loops and their placement. The cons: (1) The outermost compartment is flat and smaller than I had hoped. A letter-size paper folded in half cannot fit. I would have to fold the paper again to get it in there. (2) The middle compartment zipper only zips one way. (3) Zippers do not accommodate a luggage padlock. Yeah I know the lock is almost no security but it will add a layer of inconvenience for opportunistic thieves. (4) The chest strap that connects the two shoulder straps is too short; cannot use but that's ok. (5) I can do nothing with the extra length of shoulder strap. Have to figure out what to do with all that extra strap hanging. (6) I have no idea how to use the shoulder strap "locking hardware". (7) May be a con for some that the compartments do not unzip all the way to the bottom. (8) May be a con for some that there are zero attachment points.

This backpack worked well for a two week overseas trip. Large enough to hold essentials, such as tissues, medications, sunhat, travel raincoat, snack, etc, but no so big as to get heavy. I liked the hooks on the front and the adjustable side pocket that will hold a water bottle. The plain and simple design is appealing, as is the RFID security and the little hooks that make it a bit more difficult for a pickpocket to open the zippers. It also flattens reasonably well for packing in the check-on luggage and switching to a larger backpack for going through the airport, if you need more items for air travel like I do.

I have a great commuter pack I use for everyday use, but got this one on advice from my son, who had a couple of run-ins with pickpockets during a semester in Europe. At first, I was concerned that it would be too small. My regular pack is a bit larger and I generally try to find luggage that maximizes the dimensions of airline allowances. I'm glad I didn't get the maximum underseat-size bag. For travel, this is the perfect size. On the plane, the sleeve holds a 16" slim notebook with ease, along with my tablet, toiletries, a change of clothes, power bank, etc. with space to spare for snacks. On the ground, I could throw an umbrella, rain shell, water bottle, and power bank in the pack in the morning and use it for purchases and my partner's gear throughout the day. The security features are intuitive and easy to sort out. Getting in the bag takes approximately 2 more seconds than without the safety features and they're completely optional. So if you're at the beach or in the room, you can just skip securing them. The whole bag has a premium look and the logo is very subtle. I wore slacks and a button-up shirt for most of my trip, so I look more like a professional going to and from the office rather than a hopelessly lost tourist. My only wish would be that the whole thing be made of RFID-shielded fabric rather than just the organization panel, but it's a small gripe that only matters to a few people.

I loved this for 6 weeks of light, everyday use. Now the top handle is fraying away from the body of the bag and won’t last much longer. This was an expensive bag (for me) and I was expecting a travelon to last more than 6 weeks—like my body/belt bag, which has withstood more than a dozen international trips. I’m very, very disappointed. I expect better from travelon. And of course I’m two weeks past the return date so am stuck with an expensive backpack that I can’t carry the way I expected. 😑

This backpack is well made, the perfect size to carry for a day trip, or as a daily carry for work. I use this backpack all of the time. I work in many places and sometimes in high crime areas. I love that the zippers can be locked and have other measures to prevent opening by pickpockets. I added a little cable to it in case I need to leave it someplace. It holds everything- bag of snacks, lightweight jacket, spiral notebook, tablet and more. The only thing I would change is to have easy access to water/drink bottles on the outside- not a zippered compartment. I would also add a few zippered compartments in the middle part of the bag as well. Very pleased with this backpack- it has held up nicely.
