My son loves this book— and so do we! As a professional writer and poet married to a professional farmer, I have to say this book combines the best of our worlds. I thoroughly enjoy reading this book to our child (as opposed to some other children’s books on the topic) as the rhymes are both cleverly written and informative. It’s a quick, fun read with my preschooler! My husband is equally impressed with the variety of equipment highlighted in the book and the accuracy of the information included. (So many books get farming facts wrong or label machinery incorrectly, so this is a lovely change of pace.) Great purchase for those open to learning more about farming tools and their uses! This was a birthday gift for a 2-year old. He loved the book, and didn't even want to open the rest of his gifts. For kids that see tractors in real life, the fact that these are actually photos and not cartoonish drawings makes it even better for them.

This book is wonderfully laid out. It simplifies explanations of farming processes without talking down to younger readers. The author used a great technique of having highlighted "technical" terms that will probably be more than the reader currently understands, but gives them the opportunity to research/look up the words at the end.
