This tracker is rugged, and has a great battery life. I haven't needed to find my lost dog either it, but testing on our walks, the app is very good at tracking our location accurately. I charge the battery about once a month. The battery charger is not your typical USB connector. There is a magnetic connection, which helps keep moisture out of the unit. Which is really nice if you have a pup that likes to jump in the pond. Look at the size of the unit though. It is sturdy and has some heft to it. My pup is 50 lbs. if you have a pet that is an escape artist and your concerned that it could get lost and not find its way home, this is a great product because it's has a massive range with connectivity through cell phone technology and will let you see your pet's location they sell several versions a smaller one for small dogs that need to be recharged weekly and two for dogs over 50 lbs that only needs to be recharged once a month depending on your dogs activity level be aware that they do require you to buy a one or two-year subscription when you are purchasing it but the 2 year price per month is less than a cup of Starbucks coffee and the piece of mind you get knowing at any moment of your pet is phenomenal along with the ability to track location per day and health information that can alert you to possible issues you haven't realized they also claim to replace it I believe for free if it gets lost I'm extremely happy to have found this product after reviewing multiple others that don't even come close in range or features provided ... show more

I bought 3 of these trackers for my 3 wandering dogs. I have tried to block the fencing, used electric wire, the system of underground fencing with matching collars, and I still have wandering dogs. Turkeys!! But when it happened the other day, I found them immediately with this GPS system. I'd rather keep them inside my 5 acres but until I can, these will work beautifully. I have been using the Tractive XL Adventurer with three dogs for a couple of months now. I am very impressed with how quickly and consistently the tracker connects to towers to report accurate locations. That is important in a tracker and was lacking in the system I used prior. We live in the middle of nowhere Iowa and our German Shepard dog likes to go on adventures. She always comes home, but it's nice to know that if I'm wondering where she is, I can look and know exactly where she is at any given time. I have been very impressed with the accuracy and battery life of the tracker. My only wish is that it was a little smaller. We have been using the Tracker for a couple of month, we have found that the accuracy of the GPS has a tendency to shoot off into unsafe area from time to time when our dog is at the boundary sending faults alerts to the app. I had to expand the unsafe boundaries away from the safe area to compensate for the lack of accuracy, however I still get five or more fault “unsafe area” alerts per day. Also, I feel like the app should give the users more control over reporting timing of tracker to the app and more flexibility over the shape of the boundary, we had to use two safe areas to properly cover the shape of our land. Battery life started out to be about two days between charges, several updates have been pushed out since we started using this device extending the battery life. It appears they have sacrificed refresh rate to the backend to conserve the battery. If the Tracker had a swappable battery instead of having to bring the tracker back inside to charge that would add value to this device. My time to charge from 20% to full charge seems to take about four to six hours This was the first animal tracker that we used, we live out in the rule area of the US where we are typically getting one bars on the cell service so if you are trying to track your animal outside a low signal cell covered area I would keep in mind that this is not a perfect device just an assistant to keeping track if you pet. ... show more

We have been running two of these on our two dogs for a month now. We live is some pretty heavily wooded area. They have tracked them without problem up to two miles away. Luckily for us we now know where out dogs are going. We have a lot of space around us but we are glad to know where they are at. The batteries have a long battery life. Because we live in a metal building sometimes it is slightly delayed as to EXACTLY where they are. We live on large acreage so this isn't a very big deal for us.
