  • Brilliant! I’d give more stars if I could.
Style: Dog 4
I can’t believe this thing was only $35 and service is $13 or less per month. This device is exactly what I was looking for for my adventurous teenage (10 mo) vizsla girl. My 3 yo boy has always been reliable about staying within an approved range of my semi-rural, fenceless house, and I’d hoped my little female would just stick with him. Turns out she’s a bit more adventurous and has even emboldened him to venture farther and not check in as often as he’s accustomed to. Recently, although they’re welcome at my one neighbor’s yard they now go to on their own to play with her dog, little Wren has been seen too many times venturing out into the increasingly busy road off her fenceless yard. With this tracker, I’m now able to set up ranges on my property I’m comfortable with them roaming on their own, and I get alerts whenever they go too far towards the busy road, cross into unapproved neighboring properties, or even go to visit the approved neighbor. Now I can retrieve Wren without my neighbor having to ask or give her rides home, or I can at least go supervise that they stay within the safe boundaries of her yard. I no longer have to wonder what they’re up to or that they’re staying on my land (which I’m finding out they usually are; good doggies). I can focus on my work, and they don’t have to be fenced or tethered and can just be dogs doing their doggy things together. I also worried about them constantly this spring as the ice on the lake was thawing. I can’t watch them all the time or keep them locked up inside the whole time, but I knew they were going way out onto the thinning ice. I was so worried they’d fall in. Now I have safe alert boundaries set up that I can turn on in the spring and off the rest of the year that will alert me if they go onto the ice. The tracker is so accurate to such a small range, it’s fascinating to check in on them and view the history of her movements. She’s busy (see scribbly photo of zoomed in movements with heat spots where she spent more time)! However, as other reviewers have pointed out, the smallest virtual fence range is indeed larger than the average urban yard, so I think it will not be what you’re looking for if you live in town and want to know if your dog goes just next door. I wasn’t sure how well it would work at my friend’s property when he watched them for the day, as he lives further up in the mountains with not great cell coverage (first picture), but it worked a treat all day. I kept checking in on her (for fun) throughout the day when I was away in another city, and was amused to see where all she went around his property. I’m also finding the battery to be long lasting, whether they spend the day in or out of my Wi-Fi range. I don’t usually have need to turn on live tracking, which it says can cause the battery to drain more quickly. I have used it a couple times, but only for a minute or so. It works well and i didn’t notice the battery draining suddenly or anything. I charge my cell phone every day just as a matter of course. I was prepared to do the same with the tracker, but I’m finding I only actually need to charge it about once per week. It seems to be very durable too. I’m not sure if she’s dunked it yet, but I know she and her brother have splashed around in the creek with it. She’s also not used to wearing her harness full time now, so she’s tried rubbing it off against things, without success. It has a couple scratches on it now, but hasn’t phased it. It’s super easy for me to get it off and on the harness (for charging), but so far it’s stayed put despite her best efforts. A+ I did find it took a little poking around to get to the $13/monthly offer in the app (which itself I found to be simple enough to set up), but when I saw that you get a 30-day free trial if you sign up for the longer options anyway, that was good enough for me and so I went for the yearly subscription which is the better value. And it turned out I was super pleased with the service right away and will be very happy to keep it now. I really love this tracker. It’s such an excellent value for what they provide and for me personally the peace of mind is priceless. ... show more

  • Great little tracker. Definitely recommend to others!
Style: Dog 4
It's built well and durable, has a long battery life, connects to my phone perfectly, and is a light weight compact design! I have had this tracker for over a year now and it is perfect. My dog and I go for a lot of muddy, wet, and long hikes! The tracker has lasted through a lot of adventures and is still working great. It has survived being body slammed into the mud by my pup, and diving into the lake on numerous occasions 😂 The charge lasts a very long time. It goes into energy saving mode at home, so it'll usually last a few weeks or so with regular hiking outside of the "home zone". It also charges very fast, I can charge it in a 15 minute car ride and it'll get up to 50%+ from 0% within that time frame- which is beyond long enough for a long hike (5-6 miles) and more if my pup got lost. And lastly, it is very comfortable for my dog, he's never bothered by it. And the rubber "latches" really work well. It has never fallen off or got loose. One thing to take note of, it's sometimes easy to accidentally push the Off button when putting it on my dog, so be careful with that. Check the app to make sure it's always On. It's never turned off just being on my dog, but I have accidentally pushed it. Also I've found the price of the tracker and subscription to be very affordable compared to others, especially for the high quality of both the tracker and features in the app! ... show more

  • I'm likely to return
Style: Dog 4
I've been using the tracker for about a week and I'm getting increasingly frustrated with the app. And just to be clear, I am tech savvy. I create apps for a living, so its not that I'm confused on how to use it. 1st annoyance: For some things you can't change the data, so be careful what you enter. I accidentally inverted 2 numbers when I entered my dogs birthday. I put that he was born 01/17/18 when I meant 01/18/17, so now it forever says he's 1 year younger than he is no mater how many times I edit it. 2nd annoyance: It will not show my home network as an option to select. I WFH and I am a gamer, so I have the best internet money can buy. No matter where I go my network does not come up, including placing the tracker directly next to my router, on the opposite end of my property, and everywhere in between. It picks up about 5 from my neighbors, so maybe if I head down the street it'll find it? 3rd annoyance: None of the history options work. I can see where my dog has been for today and today alone. There is an option to select past days, but nothing happens when you chose one, it stays on today. 4th annoyance: The standard virtual fence size is very large. I would want to be alerted if my dog has left our actual fence/property. But to build a virtual fence for the smallest preset area, I would have to include both my next door neighbor's yards, the neighbors across the street, and the highway behind us and some of the land past that. So if I am alerted, my dog may have already spent time on a dangerous highway after spending who know how much time in one of my neighbor's yards. Not the best detection system. I did figure out how to customize the fence, but whenever I do, the app alerts me that its too small even after including my entire house + yards + a little of my neighbors. My property is about 7000 sqft if that helps. 5th: As many have said, the tracking isn't accurate. I was hoping it might be a location thing or area like how a GPS doesn't work in the city, but is fine in farmland. I hoped I'd get lucky with where I live, but that's not the case. My dog approached a brick wall the other day and the tracker showed that he was several streets over on the other side of that wall. It may be good for general direction if your dog gets out, but if you want to know exactly where they have been, this isn't good for that. Other annoyances for me that aren't major include the apps lack of customizability. For example, it says that breed is a factor when determining your dogs wellness stats, but you can only chose one breed or mut, my dog is half Austrian Shepherd and half pit. To me, those breeds would make a strong difference regarding energy level and such, so it would be nice if I could choose both. It also said that it would track his food intake, which I was interested to see, but I haven't found where that is being monitored or the option to turn it on if there is one. As for the actual tracker, its kind of big, which I knew going in. Something I didn't anticipate is that my dog's long hair would get constantly caught in it, and it seems to be pulling it, so that's not cool. That's all I have for now. ... show more
