Description

Filtration is a critical component in any water garden since it promotes a healthy and ecologicallystable pond environment. TotalPond's Complete Pond Filter with UV Clarifier is a pressurized biological filtration system with an integrated UV clarifier. This natural and complete garden pond stabilizing system cleans pond water while adding essential bacteria needed for a healthy aquatic environment. Ultra Violet technology is used in ponds to eliminate microscopic organisms that end up becoming those dreaded algae blooms. The addition of the UV Clarifier gives an extra step of clean to this filter; the water passes over the ultra violet bulb, cleaning the green out of water. This filter is recommended for ponds up to 1200 gallons and can be placed either in the water or outside of it. This filter system can be used for ponds and waterfalls.

  • Great for Turtle Ponds!!!
Awesome Pond filter, it works really well, it keeps my turtle pond clean and all of the turtles are happy and healthy. A little tricky to clean due to smaller opening, but overall does exactly what I purchased it for. Very cost effective!

  • Great filter
This is my 2nd purchase of this filter, mainly just for the light part, as you cannot buy that separately that I have found. This filter has made my pond look great with the UV light and functions well.

  • Works great after some slight modifications
Pretty satisfied with filter. Right out of the box the outlet and inlet port leaked some. I painted a small amount of flex seal on the both of the rubber rings that seal against the body of the filter and have had no leaks since. It definitely has kept my water clear with the UV light on. To clean, I usually just take the lid or connections off and let water flow through. I am using a 1000gph pump with it. ... show more

  • Been using this for about a year. It works great.
Update Developed a leak around the top where the lid screws on. It was close to the seam down the tank. Others have had similar issues. I clean the tank then put a flashlight inside and pointed the beam around the lid so I couls see the little holesl.. Then I used my secret weapon for leaks and repairs. JB WELD. It is amazing stuff. Even patched a leak on copper once that has yet to fail. So spread a nice bead along the rim before the threads and verified no light shining through. Then I put some on the inside in the same area to add more reinforcement. Let it dry a few days. Hooked it back up.. No more leak. I will let you know if it does not hold, but I am sure it will. JB WELD rules.! Been using this for about a year. It works great. Mine is outside of the pond for ease of cleaning. I have something hiding it. On the intake and output I used Teflon tape on the threads then screwed the inside connector so no drip . I was generous with the tape especially up where it meets the pump filter housing. I recommend this filter. Be careful feeding the tube through the two inside filters. A few times I scrap a little skin on the inside lip of the pump. The inside lip at the top is scrap. I might try smoothing it with sand paper. ... show more

  • Hate this TotalPond UV Filter. Had to buy another brand, Tetra Pond, 3 years later!
My pond guy told me to buy this filter 3 years ago, so he installed it, but he didn't put in the filter pads because he said I didn't need it. No wonder he didn't put them in. It's impossible for me to put them in! I now maintain the pond by myself and decided to change the UV light because the pond was getting greener with algae. I ordered a new bulb which I could only order though TotalPond and had to pay about $15 for shipping for a total of about $27! Could not buy it from Amazon! I also had a cracked quartz glass tube that the UV bulb goes into, so I needed to order that too, which was out of stock until July. So I ordered a Tetra Pond UV clarifier in the meantime, which was so simple to put together and you can buy any replacement part on Amazon if needed! I will NEVER buy from TotalPond again, except for maybe that quartz glass tube that I can't get anywhere else, and I might as well have another UV clarifier being that the bulb is brand new and once the bulb has aged that would be it for TotalPond! I decided to clean out the TotalPond filter and put in the sponges myself but it was impossible to get the filter pad though the tube and push to the bottom without disconnecting the tube going through it. It's IMPOSSIBLE. I scratched up my hands trying to do it! Now I understand why my pond guy didn't put the sponges in. However, the water did get crystal clear without them anyway for about 2 years. So being that I started running the other new Tetra Pond UV Clarifier 2 days ago, I will know in a week if the water turns crystal clear again. ... show more

  • I am amazed how quickly this filter cleaned up a 300 gal stock tank garden pond!
Last year I set up a 300 gallon stock tank garden pond with 5 goldfish. I am new to water gardening but I did a lot of reading prior to set up. I have several plants including water lilies, iris, pickerel rush and hornwort for oxygenators. Original set up was late last summer and my water quality was good all last season. I use a 300 GPH pump and circulate through an old hand pump head and then cascade over some rocks to reenter the pond. My fish wintered over fine and most plants survived the winter as well. Mid spring there was an algae bloom in the pond and several articles I read said to just let the pond push through it and in a couple of weeks it should clean up. I added some floating plants to help reduce nitrates and the water just kept getting greener. I decided to explore filtration and came upon the Total Pond complete pond filter. I was a little apprehensive with the complaints about leaks and UV light not working. The UV light will not turn on if it is not installed in the turbe which I am sure is a safety feature. No leaks so far and at the beginning of day three my pond water has only a very slight green tint and the pond looks amazing! Installing the hose barb fittings is a little tricky to get them tight enough to seal but a couple of common tools and I was successful. Remember parts are plastic so over tightening could cause damage. I am expecting that by day four or five my pond water will be crystal clear. Also know that a UV light will not eliminate the algae that grows on pond structures. UV is a contact kill for the one cell algae that is in the water. There is no residual effect on algae after it leaves the filter. I am very pleased with the results the product provided in my pond. ... show more
