    • Excellent Beginner Guitar Kit
First off, I will address the area where I think most new guitarists will focus their attention: this guitar is beautiful. The neck just looks so neat against the pristine gloss of the gorgeous Seafoam Green paint on the body of the instrument. There is a certified psychological component of new players appreciating the aesthetic of their instrument to how consistently they will pick up that instrument to practice and play it. However, as with most aspects of life, looks-appearance only get you so far. Now, we address the substance of the guitar and there are no unpleasant surprises. I prefer to take my guitars and electric basses to a professional luthier to set up my instruments for easiest playability. He checks the necks and the bridges and makes whatever adjustments are necessary to render the instrument comfortable to play. Beginning players are most likely to prefer a lower string height (abode the fretboard) so that they won’t have to press down on the strings too hard to achieve the desired notes. The more comfortable the experience of playing the instrument, the higher the likelihood that the new player will continue to practice and improve their skills on the guitar. With that being said, this guitar is a terrific platform upon which to begin a guitarist’s musical journey. The guitar, itself, is a solid instrument that has decent controls for starting out. The volume and tone controls function as they should. Also, the array of accessories that ship with the guitar is remarkable: a light-duty travel bag, picks, a basic cable and tiny, but functional, amplifier, a basic strap, tuner, capo, and a neat little guitar stand exceed the bare minimum of what is necessary for a beginning guitarist. Of course, at this crazy low price point, all the accessories will be candidates for upgrades over time. However, all the accessories work just fine and should last long enough to to determine whether the new guitar student is going to commit to the instrument or move on. If the former, they can upgrade their equipment as needed and enjoy the journey. If the latter, there will not have been any significant loss of funds. Moreover, some of the initial financial outlay could be recouped by selling on the used market or gift the kit to a different family member, friend, fortunate stranger, local school, or church. Bottom line: this is a terrific starter guitar kit. ... show more

    • Great beginner guitar but mine broke
Color: Candy Apple Red Size: TST-112M
Was good while it lasted. I was really enjoying the guitar, though the shade of red is not as I imagined. I should've went with one of the blue ones. But the guitar just stopped working. No sound comes out. Maybe it's an electrical issue? I don't have the money to get it fixed and I don't have the means to return it ... show more
