Nice tool
Less i have to carry

Not so good
If it weren't for the half price I paid for it I would have returned it The tool is great however, you will need to install it in both handle bar ends, the plug ends only fit MTB handlebars, there is no description of this on the listing.

Sorry, but this just didn't work.
The tool will not fit in two of my road bikes-the plug portion is too small. One of my bikes has aluminum bars and the other has carbon bars. What Topeak should do is also include some larger diameter rubber plugs. But as is the tool won't work as intended. More info on what handlebars this fits should have been in the item's description. I did have a pair of Ritchey carbon bars the tool fit into but it was a B fit (sorta worked). The tool was so long it contacted the bend portion of the bar and would not allow the tool to sit straight in the handlebar. Sorry but this tool was a fail. ... show more

Would be great if it fits my road bikes
This tool uses a rubber piece at the end that bulges as you turn the knob. This allows it to be pressed and fit pretty snugly into a handlebar. Unfortunately, it will not fit inside any of the 3 road bike that I own since the inner diameter of my bars are too small. I originally wanted this for my roadies since I don't want to carry too many things in my pockets. For a mountain bike or city bike with a larger 7/8" bar, it does fit inside but it is a pain to get it out. Since you don't need these tools every day, it's not so bad. It's definitely not as easy as it looks in the video however. If you loosen it too much like they did in the video, it's definitely easy to get in and out however you are at risk the tool will come out during bumpy rides and downhill decents so it's better to tighten it securely. It gets 1 star since for a road bike application but I ended up using it on my mountain bike which I would rate at 3 stars since it's not as convenient and I usually already carry a backpack that has a $7 multitool in there that is much lighter overall than the two ends combined. I think I should have bought their water bottle cage with integrated tool compartment instead.. ... show more

Works as a chain tool, but fails hard as a bar end plug
These tools are heavy, and the press fit design is not sufficient to keep them from falling out. Unlike most compression-style bar end plugs that use an allen bolt with an exposed head on the outside to tighten, this one is supposed to just rotate and tighten by hand. This is especially problematic on road handlebars since the end of the bar tape is tucked inside the tube to create a clean finish. The rotating action just twists up the bar tape and provides no grip. Finally, the included rubber doughnut fits bars with relatively small tubes. If Topeak also included a larger doughnut, then they could easily expand the size of tubes that the chain tool would fit. ... show more
