Color: Black
Great Multi-tool. I like the low-profile design and that it is all-metal. Ever piece is the exact size that I needed, and the 4mm hex wrench alone can fix about half the parts on my mountain bike. I really appreciate the chain tool and the integrated sizes of spoke wrenches. The whole design is ingenious. This tool manages to fit four tools where each separately would be huge and cost about half the price of this overall tool. I understand it may be a pain having to use the smaller profile of these tools, but the parts that need these tools on the bike only occasionally need to be adjusted and therefore it is not worth owning the more "serious" versions. I have used the chain tool on numerous occasions. It can take a little getting used to, but it saved me on a ride when my power link (sram chain) fell off and my chain went rogue. I found the chain, but not the tiny extra link, so I removed a link from the chain and reconnected it the old-fashioned way (without a detachable link). It kept me riding, and I was able to buy a new power link after the ride and reconfigure the chain. Without this tool, I would have had to walk my bike home that day, which would have been pitiful seeing as it was the beginning of my ride. I can only imagine if this was at the top of a mountain on a long ride...it would kill the experience. I have had to adjust derailleurs, handlebar stem and the saddle on separate rides. With a mutli-tool, you can tine-tune your bike on the fly and figure out the best configuration for the terrain you are riding on. I used to go ghetto and carry a bunch of individual allan wrenches that were connected with a piece of plastic. Most of those sizes you don't need, and this tool has the screwdriver and chain tool which are the next most valuable tools. It is truly a life saver and Topeak got it right with this one, which they usually do since they are a good company. I feel anything extra would be a waste of unnecessary tools. -Ken Author, "How to Get a Job in Video Games" ... show more

  • Surprisingly small, surprisingly well-built.
I'll admit it: when I opened the box, I was astonished at how small this multi-tool is. Hey, I asked for light, right? And then I picked it up, and I knew all was well. This tool is really solid and well-built. The chain breaker is excellent quality and easy to use, and the chain hook is really handy for trailside repairs. The tool body itself is comfortable in the hand, and burly; one of the first things I tried upon receiving this was to take the 5mm allen key and loosen/retighten my stem bolts, easily one of the tightest bolts on my mountain bike, and it worked just fine. The neoprene pouch is a nice touch to keep it from eating through your Camelbak's pockets. I don't know what I am ever going to use an aluminum tire tool for, but I carry plastic tire tools on the trail anyway and those weigh practically nothing. I also don't know why every tool on the planet needs to have a freaking bottle opener, but at least there is a spoke holder included with it; the spoke wrenches are on the body of the chain breaker, which detaches from the tool itself for use. Honestly, every feature here has been meticulously thought out and executed. I read a lot of reviews for multi-tools before choosing one, and this was literally the only one I found without any negative reviews. In fact, of the 17 reviewers before me, every single person gave it five stars. Well, let me go ahead and make it 18 -- this is a great value and a must-have for any mountain biker. It's not going to replace a tool chest of large, professional tools... but you're not carrying your tool chest on your bike, either. Please note: while Topeak's site lists a Torx 10 and 25, as of 2012-11-27 this tool does not include a Torx 10. That's of no concern to me -- my brake calipers and adjuster wheels take a 25 -- but worth noting if your bike requires this tool. ... show more

  • LOVE this tool!!!
Color: Silver
This tool is very well-made - you can feel the quality. It's also incredibly small - 1.5 inches wide and just under 3 inches long, smaller than a credit card, and about a half inch thick. The weight is 153gm or 5.4 ounces. I always carry a multi tool when I ride, I even took my bike completely apart, cleaned it and put it back together using my little 8-function tool. But it's really old and has 8 tools. This one weighs only a few grams more than my old one, and has 20 tools, including a chain tool. I never thought I needed a chain tool until I was on a group ride in the country, not close to a bike shop, and one of the group had his chain break. He fixed his chain and was back on the road in no time at all. I haven't used the chain tool on the road yet, but the guys at my LBS gave me an old piece of chain to play with. It's not quite as easy as the Youtube videos make it look, I wished I had longer piece to hold on to for more leverage, but I feel confident I can repair my chain on the road if it should break. The one thing I can't figure out on this tool is the tire lever - to me it is a useless addition to an otherwise perfect tool - it's got to be heavy, it's made of metal, and could damage a rim. I would recommend carrying plastic levers, don't rely on this metal one. ... show more

  • Topeak Mini 20 Pro
Color: Black
I had this multitool since last year and prior to this, I had the Alien which was just too heavy and bulky and just not practical for everyday rides. Likes: the size, the sleeve and strength, capable chain breaker with a hook and spoke wrenches, the dislike: the unnecessary thing that looks like a tire lever? the chain hook that keep popping off (I used a narrow strip of electrical tape to taped it to the entire chain tool) and the screw holding the entire chain tool to the multitool itself keeps loosening off. Last and minor grip is it's not easy to pull up the allen drivers and especially when you're wearing gloves. Regardless, i'll be having these MT with me on every ride together with my Leatherman Signal because of it's Pros rather than it's Cons. ... show more
