  • One of the best targets I've tried
Durability. Easy arrow pull. Good stopping power. Lightweight. Portable. I bought this target in the last week of July and have used it about every day since for recurve bow arrows with 100 grain field points. I've gone through at least 10 overlay targets like the one pictured, and as you can see I shoot them until they pretty much fall apart. This target has been behind every shot and continues to hold its form. It is not self-healing in the sense that holes disappear, but neither does it crumble after being hit repeatably in the same area. I shot it with an arrow having no point screwed in -- just the bare shaft and insert -- and the arrow went through and knocked out a chunk of target on the opposite side. I glued it back in with rubber clement, and so far it is holding fine. have not left it out in the rain, but my guess is rain won't hurt it. Arrows are relatively easy to retract depending on how much overhang the points have. If the points are larger than the shafts retrieval is firm but manageable. I'm 78 and don't have any trouble. Proper fitting points require only a slight pull with one hand while pushing back on the target with the other. I shoot 45 and 55 pound bows, and the 55 penetrates the 2" thick target and protrudes a couple of inches out the back side. The 45 is about the same but protrudes about 1". I haven't weighed the target but it's probably under a pound and portable. This target needs a support and a backstop. It's not intended to be stand alone, like a block target would be. A cardboard box would probably work fine, with the target either outside or inside the box. I use a 4x6 horse stall mat that I picked up at a farm supply store for $45 bucks. I hang the target over the matt. The target holds the arrow nicely and keeps the arrow from penetrating the mat. With a decent backstop this is a great target. I'm getting ready to buy another one, to have ready if and when my current one needs replacing, which doesn't seem to be anytime soon. The white stuff on my target in the photos is masking tape. I put some on the target to hold an overlay target and could not get it to come off. No problem but I'll probably not be doing that again. ... show more

  • Works well as a knife throwing target.
Style: New Vision-1 Layer
I use it as a knife throwing target. It has absorbed 100s of throws with no serious degradation. This is of course somewhat dependent on how many off 90 degree sticks you get and I have quite a few, so it is doing quite well for this purpose. I plan on turning it around once the surface gets degraded. I am throwing 8" X 3/4" sharpened knives and they penetrate 1" on a hard throw. I did shoot it once with my ~70 lb pistol crossbow and it easily stopped the bolt when other archery targets have not, so it would work well for that purpose as a target point is far less destructive than a knife. ... show more

  • WOW! Stopped tripp'n arrows in .3 millsec!
It's firm, round, fully packed and well made. I made a wooden frame to contain the target. Hung it and shot it. Arrows a tad hard to pull out, but that's the price ya gotta pay for successfully bringing arrows to a screeching stop when they are launched by my Spring Wood Mk23, double re-curve bow, with Giente Van, 'Super Pucker' string. Arrows are Smith and Jones, Spinsters Of Steel: 31.5over all, no flex, Knocking Nocks. Flecked using the finest plastics. ... show more

  • Works great
I use it for a throwing knife target. It works great. At least until it gets too chewed up then it’s a bit too loose to catch knives well. Still, it takes a lot of throws to wear it down. I definitely recommend it as a throwing knife target. I just seems a bit expensive for a foam block but it’s probably the best throwing knife target I’ve ever used. It gives that satisfying thud when you stick it and a minimal clanging noise on the occasions it bounces off. ... show more

  • Goes through way more than 2”
Style: New Vision-1 Layer
I’m shooting a 25 pound bow from 20 yards away and it works well. It definitely stops the arrow from going beyond the target but it goes through a lot more than the listing says. Will keep this for the time being to shoot in the basement and practice, but will have to replace sooner than I had hoped. ... show more

  • Satisfying
This thing is pretty good at this price. It stops the arrows at the way it supposed to be, and it is definitely affordable. I'd like to share my experience with this target: I'm a beginner archer and I have a 28 lp draw weight recurve bow. I shott the target at 10ish yards and the arrows were stopped well. However, arrows went through the thing usually less than 1 inch but occasionally went through 2 inches or more. Therefore, this target is perfet for beginners; if you have a compound bow or crossbow, this is not something you want. Another thing is, the spongy material makes the arrows hard to pull out, especially when arrows went through. I had to lay the thing on the ground with arrow tails up, and then step on top of the target, and pull the arrows out from above. Again, this is not a very expensive bow. It is a very good choice at this price. ... show more

  • Pretty good quality, time will tell
It was a xmas gift, we haven't really tried it yet because we still need a stand. But it looks good and sturdy. It's light and easy to move around. Our son uses it for knife throwing and the knifes come out easily .

  • not what I expected
I purchased these targets for my young archery students, age 8 and up, who shoot the Genesis bows with the Genesis arrows. After the first round I knew we had a problem. Arrows went in easy but the kids couldn't pull the arrows out. The arrows were hard for myself to pull. So the comment of easy to pull, isn't true. this is why I scored the target as a 1 star, they didn't work for my young archer's. Steven ... show more
