    • It is a model, not so much a toy.
This thing looks awesome and feels substantial being constructed of metal. That said, while the package says it's for 3+, I disagree. I gave this to my almost-3 year old son for Christmas. The joints are pretty stiff, so it's definitely posable, but not really movable the way kids want to play with it. The tracks fall off often if you actually run it along the floor, and it took him about 5 minutes to rip off the rubber hydraulic hose. This is a great choice if you want a detailed model to put near your desk to look at, but it's not a kids toy, in my opinion. ... show more

So cool lots of intricate controls that are suprisingly lifelike, but it broke within 3 days of having it.

It is much smaller that I thought it would be. Also, online it stated ages 3-4, but on the box it listed older ages 6-8 !! My grandson turned 4.

    • Tracks are cheaply made
This is a solid excavator however the tracks are so cheap my son was driving it on our wooden floor and the track slipped off and snapped. We haven’t even had it for 24 hours.

    • The tracks will not stay on.
I bought this for my grandson and the tracks won't stay on really flimsy but the rest of it is great. It almost seems like a shelf toy. I reached out to Amazon and top race will not return an email for replacent tracks, so I guess I will purchase a tonka like I should have done in the first place

    • Almost on the right track
So my son is obsessed with excavators but did not have a toy one. I decided to look and get one that was comparable to some of his other toys. I decided on this one because it looked great and was around the right size. So here it is, it is heavy, made of metal, fully usable and a great replica. The only bad thing is the darn tracks. I’m telling you this thing was ALMOST perfect. But the tracks just come off. They’re made of a lite rubber that I know will break. For $40 you’d think they would have non removable tracks. I personally suggest finding one with better tracks. It seems sturdy other than that. However, the tracks falling off of an excavator is analogous to a person running barefoot on a gravel road, it looks stupid and nonsensical. So….I strongly suggest they make the tracks more durable and perhaps not so easily removable. If this doesn’t bother you then it is a great toy. Now excuse me, my son is asking me to put the track back on. ... show more

    • Tracks are to big for tension device.
Tracks need to be a bit smaller for the amount of tension that is allowed. Easily come off and have to be put back on continually. Rest of the toy is great.
