I got these for cold and wet Oregon mornings at the dog park. So far they have kept me warm and dry as required. They are a bit tight through the thigh so I doubt I would want them as hiking or skiing pants. Maybe once they stretch out a bit they will be better. I'm happy with my purchase of these hiking pants. I think they fit well, and they're certainly warm. They're also stretchy and comfortable. Overall very happy. A note on sizing - I wear a size 36" waist with a 32" inseam, and these are just about perfect on me. Maybe just a tad long, but easy to live with. You may not like the belt that comes with it. Before purchase I was wearing fleece pants which were fine for the colder weather. These are much better and warmer. I love the pockets. Strange sizing through. I'm a 30" and these were too big. Good light weight pants with a thin fleece inside. Keep you decently warm during hikes at 37 degrees. Pros: good material, stretches, good water repellent properties. Cons: Waist is too high. Not great if you're used to lower waist pants. The two lower pockets are pretty useless. In fact, peeing things there, like car keys, isn't ideal as the pocket is in the front side of the leg rather than on the side.
