While this is American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius), it’s actually grown in China, which might matter if you're specifically looking for North American-sourced roots. American ginseng commands a higher price and is now being cultivated in other countries, like China, to offset the high demand for it in Asia. Ginseng grown in China is generally less expensive than U.S.-grown ginseng, partly due to lower production costs and differing quality standards. The listing mentions 2 oz of dandelion root, but there’s no sign of it on the jar itself. The ginseng slices are evenly cut and thin, but they’re also quite small. That said, they brew quickly and are a solid, budget-friendly option if you're making tea. Just don’t expect premium roots.

This ginseng is a really good value, and the small, thin slices make it easier/more pleasant to use the way we do. My husband is the real ginseng connoisseur in the household. His dad turned him on to it years ago, and he often has a piece in his mouth, kind of like you would have a mint, and he swears it helps with energy. You'll even catch me having a piece now and then. We go to Wisconsin often, where a lot of superior-quality American ginseng is grown, and he will bring back pounds! I decided to try this one because the cut of what we usually get is like chunks, and I really liked the look of the thin slices. Although this ginseng is grown in China, it is high-quality; maybe not the supreme stuff we get from Wisconsin, but still well worth it. It smells and tastes great, exactly what you'd expect from ginseng; it starts out earthy and kind of astringent and gets earthy-sweet. I did end up liking the thin slices much better than the chunks for the way we use them. My husband and I work together, and he ended up taking the container in his work truck out and sharing some with the crew. Safe to say this one is a winner, especially for the price.

The ginseng slices were cut into small and thin pieces and placed in a plastic jar. They were very dry and looked fresh. I took about a dozen slices and brewed a cup of ginseng tea with boiling water. The taste did taste a bit like ginseng, bitter with a little sweetness, but the ginseng taste was not strong enough. I think they are just ordinary ginseng slices. Because I have been brewing and drinking them for more than two weeks, I didn’t feel the effect that ginseng should have. I think I will not repurchase them.

The slices are more like flakes and are cut small. They are bitter and slightly tangy. I will probably use the flakes to make tea or candy because when rehydrated they have the texture of styrofoam without any prep. When I tried a slice it by itself and it was chewy. I got a hit of energy. It was easier to get in the zone and be productive.

This is a very nice ginseng product precut to thin slices for many usages. As this is a pure product, I tasted one slice for its quality. It has a typical high quality ginseng flavor with a bitter taste to start and a sweet taste following. At the end, the slice becomes very slippery. It is pretty comfortable to hold this slice in my mouth. An obvious effect is to increase saliva. That is a sign that this slice contains a lot of Ginsenoside and might provide benefit as we expect. People may have different way of using ginseng, I find it is great to add in the soup or tea. This product has the ginseng roots cut to very thin like kraft paper to help extraction of the contents (see the picture). However, there is no description about the age of the ginseng.

These ginseng slices are thin and small, which makes it convenient and quick to make ginseng tea. The taste does have the taste of ginseng, slightly bitter with a little sweetness. But I personally think the ginseng taste is very light, not strong enough, and it is not high-quality ginseng.

These ginseng slices are very fresh and clean, with that classic earthy, slightly sweet ginseng flavor. Very authentic. I use them mainly to make tea. But I also blend a few slices into my green juice, and there is no waste this way. It is a simple way to add a boost to your health routine.
