    • Good gift for a truck-loving toddler
I love the John Deere design and colors. The trucks seem to roll pretty easily which is good for my 21 month old. The material for the tires are different for each truck and the smaller truck has a much softer and squishy material which can easily be picked off by my toddler. He also frequently struggles with the trailer becoming detached. I wish there was a small latch or something to help it stay on a bit better, but I understand this toy was geared towards 3 years and up. As far as the noise, it’s a fairly unimpressive mechanical sound which equates to about 1 rev of the engine. My toddler didn’t seem to care much about it and he usually loves engine sounds. I do however love that I don’t have to worry about batteries because the sound is mechanical rather than electronic. Overall my toddler seems to enjoy the truck, so for the price, I would recommend it. ... show more

This is a heavy duty John Deere tractor. excellent build quality. Great for the kids who loves to play with machines. Only the yellow press sound button is hard and not small kids can press them. overall a good tractor toy.

    • One of My Twins' New Favorites!
My 5 year old twins are super into vehicles of all kinds - cars, trucks, trains, motorcycles... anything with wheels. One of them had been complaining that he wanted a tow truck, so I got him one, but apparently it wasn't what he wanted - he didn't want a tow truck with a hook, he wanted something that vehicles could ride on. They've both been getting into monster trucks lately, so when I saw this I knew we had to have it! They LOVE it! A monster truck that can pull other vehicles around! It's large enough that a lot of their smaller scale cars and trucks can fit in the back - it tows a lot more than just the Gator it comes with. It does make sounds, but thankfully, it just plays a short sound byte, and isn't one of those toys that constantly makes noise until someone turns it off. That alone is my favorite feature, lol! My kids are pretty rough on their toys, and so far this toy has held up to the abuse. Although they play with the monster truck and bed more than the Gator, so the Gator maybe holding up simply because it's left alone a lot. What a great little set of John Deere toys! From the fully biodegradable packaging to the build quality of the set, they have nailed it with this set. My grandson is all about trucks and he’s all boy when it comes to playing with them. This set stands up so well to his play style and they look amazing too. The trailer is removable as is the little 4-wheel ATV drive vehicle in the back. The large wheels look great and have a great monster truck feel to them. No batteries are needed for this set and the large truck has a button on the top that when pressed sounds like an engine revving up all without batteries. What a nice feature to add. The set is branded with John Deere graphics throughout giving that authentic look and feel to the set along with the superb build quality that has impressed me. ... show more

He’s going to love it! The pieces are constructed from plastic - seems to be of decent quality. There is a button on the top of the monster truck hauler that can be pushed to make a track engine sound. It does feel like it might be a bit challenging for a toddler to push down, but not impossible. The fun won’t likely be dependent on this little feature. The hauling trailer can be attached to the monster truck, or unattached. I suspect this one will get a lot of use out in the sandbox. My son, who is in his 30’s, loved it - lol! ... show more

This is nice getting two monster trucks in one! You’ve got a monster tractor and a monster truck on a trailer! This reminds me of the monster truck episode of the kids picture show, where every vehicle is a monster vehicle.
