bought for multi-media art, primarily graphite with watercolor. I’ve used a number of other erasers in the art - traditional rectangles, malleable, pencil, etc. All have their places but I needed a finer line and finer control sometimes and this was perfect. Easy to use, since works like a pencil. When using over heavy graphite I found at times the tip held onto enough graphite to interfere with the next stroke so I keep a fine sandpaper close by to run it across lightly when I need to remove that bit of graphite. If used with a very light stroke it can also help with very fine shadings of graphite, better than the rubbing stumps, etc. I love this tool! ... show more

I have used this eraser for many years and keep returning to it. I use it with my pan pastels and pastel pencils to lift off highlights and show animal hairs and whiskers. I have used it with pastels on resin doll faceups to provide a very thin line or clean up mistakes. I use it in removing graphite and charcoal for highlights and emphasizing areas. The rubberized eraser is clean and doesn’t pill the paper. I use it when I need to clean up a pencil drawing or to add the white spot to an eye. I have several of these and keep one handy with each of my art supply storage containers such as colored pencils, graphite pencils, pastel pencils, pan pastels, and watercolor draft drawing supplies. I highly recommend this eraser and the rectangular one as well, for anyone using regular pencils, mechanical pencils or other artists. ... show more

This eraser allows me to be more free with sketching because it does such a great job of erasing graphite pencil marks. It does not catch the page when erasing because it is so small an eraser. Have used this type of eraser for years and always have it nearby.
