If you are using a "brs" style stove drop this in first with a mini bic. The dome on the bottom of an isopropane 110 gram canister will fit over the stove with the canister nipple below the lid. Hold the lid on with a rubber band or hair band or shove it in a small Smelly-proof/ziplock bag. I think it is about the perfect size for a solo backpacker unless you are a really hearty eater. I have the 750ml as well but it is a bit too deep to reach into for cleaning and just more pot than I use. I also have the evernew 900 ml wide pot, also too much for one person, imho. It took me a wile to shift from aluminum to titanium but I think in the scheme of things the added cost is worth it. Mainly because it heats quickly. And cools quickly. Rinse it out and set it in the sun and its dry. Or use a bit of stove heat to dry it. Wipes out well with leaves.

I've only tested this at home so far but it seems like a great little pot/cup. The pot weighs 53g and the lid 17g for a total 70g versus the tag specification of 72g. Always a nice surprise if things are lighter. The orange mesh stuff sack with drawstring and cord lock weighs 10g. The mesh is well chosen for cushioning with low weight. I had wondered if the pot walls would be too thin for durability but I'm confident it will be fine with care. The pot measures 100mm at the rolled top lip (outside diameter), 95mm through the body (OD, as specified) and 80mm high (as specified). Internal diameter is 85mm; a 110g/4oz canister fits inside perfectly. So it's slightly squat, which is what I wanted, both for stability and low spoon angle. Bonus: it will be great with a short handled spoon. The lid isn't a tight fit which is fine with boiling liquid, and the lid tab lock groove works well so you can easily lift the lid for a peek. With a measured 500mL water to test, there was a little space at the top so 550mL is capacity to the brim. All up, it seems like a well-considered unit for minimalist solo trips.

I purchased the TOAKS Titanium 550ml Pot at the end of November. I've taken it on two trips since that time and it has performed better than any pot or cup I've used before. I've been using the same steel pot for over twenty years. It weighs in at ten ounces. I've been gradually trying to lighten my load and bought the TOAKS pot because it's much lighter (weighs less than three ounces even in the carry bag), it has received excellent reviews, and because it's significantly cheaper than other comparable titanium cups. I was expecting it to be good, but for my purposes it has been more than great. I've been using a homemade alcohol stove made from a SPAM Spread can (same as the Fancy Feast stove). I've never been able to get a decent rolling boil using a steel pot. With the TOAKS pot, I had a rolling boil in under seven minutes, this was with icy cold creek water on a morning when the temperature was around seventeen degrees Fahrenheit. Moreover, the TOAKS cup has a depression in the base that is exactly the right size to fit snuggly on top of my SPAM Spread stove, thus eliminating any kind of balancing worries I've had before. Further, TOAKS cup is the perfect size for my needs. I need it to boil water for soup or Ramen and I need it for coffee and hot chocolate. The TOAKS cup takes care of these needs masterfully. I was raving about how great this cup is to a friend and then I felt silly. I told him that I felt absurd getting so excited about something so insignificant, but he assured me that it's always okay to get excited about a little pot.

From what I've gathered, this cup was once a popular item called the "BPL 550 Firelite" back when BPL had their own line of gear, and is now sold under the Toaks brand. Assuming it is the same one, it has a large following. It's a great little pot for the solo backpacker. I bought this to compliment my Snow Peak Mini Solo Combo, which at 700ml is a tad bigger than necessary, and I never used the accompanying cup anyhow. I had trouble finding a 500ml pot, because at this size it's basically a large cup and they don't typically come with lids. But alas, the Toaks 550ml with a lid! For a small setup where you just boil water for pre-packaged dehydrated meals and the occasional hot beverage, this is a perfect option. The 550ml size allows you to drink from it as a mug without it being awkwardly big (unlike my 700ml snow peak), but still big enough to boil the appropriate amount of water for meals. I typically use Mountain House Pro Pack which require 14oz/414ml of water, so this pot hits the bullseye for those. The regular MH options use 16oz/473ml, so this would still be fine! For a visual reference, 500ml brings the water to about 1/2in from the top. As has probably been mentioned before, it's size also allows a 100g fuel canister to comfortably nest inside and also for the pot to nest on the bottom of a 1L Nalgene bottle. Nice space saving features. Compared to Snow Peak's product, the metal might be a weeeeeeee bit thinner, but hardly noticeable and I suppose it makes the pot lighter. I like the vents in the lid to let out steam, and the handles on mine have a good tightness about them to keep them out instead of flopping around. The carrying bag is nice, but not the device used to cinch it, which is difficult to open. I probably won't use the bag in the field anyhow. Besides those distinguishing attributes, its a small titanium pot and works as intended. Weights for those ounce counters: Pot, lid, bag: 2.9oz Pot, lid: 2.5oz Pot: 1.9oz

My "standard backpacking dinner" is "a Mountain House meal" plus "a cup of tea" plus "a cup of water while the water is boiling. This cup is a perfect companion to a 900mL pot to do that. With 32oz of water, I can pour 24oz into the pot to boil (I use a solid fuel or butane stove depending on fire restrictions) and 8oz into the cup to drink. When the water is boiled, 16oz goes to the Mountain House bag to cook dinner and the last 8oz goes into this cup (now empty) for tea. It's a great combination that takes almost no clean-up and the cup fits perfectly into the pot.
