Description

Pure, raw, and unfiltered honey from the prairie. PURE HONEY Summer 2021 in North Dakota was a hot one! Early heat allowed the bees to make the bulk of their surplus honey in late June from the abundant alfalfa and small amount of sweet clover. The remaining summer months included some more alfalfa and a larger variety of wildflowers than usual. Similar to years past, we have a mild and sweet flavored honey with a hint of cinnamon. RAW Each year we harvest our honey in mid August. After the honey is extracted, it naturally crystallizes within 2-3 months, sometimes sooner. In order to bottle the raw, crystallized honey and maintain all the natural goodness, we warm it slowly to 96 degrees until it reaches a semi-crystallized state which can be bottled into jars. UNFILTERED Nothing more. Nothing less. Our honey is neither filtered or strained so it maintains all the beneficial pollen and microscopic enzymes. To liquify the honey, place the jar in a warm water bath until the desired consistency is achieved. They were very helpful! And they also informed me they are using better kids now! 🎉 I will totally order from them again. They honey is some of the best raw organic honey on Amazon. Original review, two weeks ago: I love this product and I love it’s price. However the packing failed and the honey arrived with a shattered lid, honey spilled in the box and because it is hot here the honey also leaked on to our porch. Worst of all, there doesn’t seem to be a way to return this product! That to me, is unacceptable. That’s a helluva lot of honey to waste and that’s a lot of money down the drain too! 😠 ... show more

Any time one of my favorite grocery store products gets discontinued, my first move (after a brief, initial period of gastronomical grieving), is to check out Amazon in search of a suitable replacement. So that's what I did when Trader Joe's stopped carrying my favorite creamed, raw honey, in the hope that I could find a new brand with an equally neutral, not overly sweet flavor. I use honey in my tea, so my preference is for raw, creamed honey with a not-too-assertive flavor, and a mellow sweetness that doesn't make your teeth hum. I first tried Cox's raw, creamed honey, but while it was a nice honey, I found that its more pronounced, sharp flavor dominated the taste of my tea. So I next tried this TJO Bees brand, and I love it. As it's a natural product and bees collect pollen from different sources, I don't expect the flavor to be exactly consistent from batch to batch, and I know that with creamed honey, some batches have a looser consistency, and some seem a bit more "waxy," so I'm prepared for the texture and taste to vary a bit. But I'm very happy with my first tub of this honey. The texture is soft enough to spread on toast or biscuits, but firm enough to spoon out without any sticky, messy dribbles. After I make my way through the whole 5 pounds, I'll definitely be buying it again. ... show more

    • My only Go-To organic honey... Still.

I am still a FAN and have been enjoying this particular honey for at least five years now. This is a true organic, non-pasteurized food product offered as it was intended to be used by us naturally. This honey will crystalize given time as true organic honey will, just put it a large pot of warm water to soften. In those five years I have never had a problem with ruined jars or cracked lids and the lid has a tamper proof tear away lid strip with a seal under the lid keeping out contaminants and other foreign whatever. The lid is tapped and wrapped with an air bubble wrap protector. I you get a cracked jar or lid... that's going to be on Amazon shipping. I use Honey in my morning tea and in my oatmeal every morning. I have used a variety of raw honey brands out there. I had stumbled upon this brand when I did not want to purchase my other brand anymore. after using this honey I could not be happier that I tried something different. Besides the fact that this is supporting a small family farm, this honey is DELICIOUS!!! It is on the sweet side, but is the first honey that I would eat right off the spoon. It is very smooth and light and sweet. I wish I could buy it in bulk or even a bigger jar. I am on my 3rd jar of this and they def have a permanent customer for life. My whole family also prefers this now. So I def recommend giving this a try. I never write reviews but I felt this stuff needed one. ... show more

I usually buy a different brand, this is the first time I've tried TJO honey. We use it as a sugar substitute for morning tea/coffee, or Hibiscus Flower blood pressure tea. Anyway, this TJO Honey has a very sugary taste, I don't think I've ever had a raw honey that was this sweet. Now, if that's what you are looking for, you will love this honey. But I like to have a bit of an aftertaste. Also, this honey seemed to be strained really well. I can't find a trace of any wax or cappings. I like to run across a pebble of wax or cappings occasionally, but I'm probably in the minority. So really, there is nothing "wrong", it just different from what I'm used to. ... show more

I use and buy a lot of honey. Always raw, unfiltered and barely heated to retain beneficial enzymes. This is one of my favorite and go-to brands. I'm not a fan of runny overly-sweet honey. This is not. This is thicker creamed honey with very nice flavor. I use it every morning in my coffee. If you want liquid, super-sweet honey, this is not for you. If you want real honey with all the enzymes and the other good "stuff" honey is supposed to have, this is what you want. , ... show more

I eat a lot of raw honey. I have been a honey enthusiast for many years. During the current pandemic while other people stock up on toilet paper (which I sadly only have a few roles), I decided to try bulk raw honey. I thought, "If ever there was a time to feel like pooh bear, it'd be now." And man oh man am I glad I did and found this honey. It is an amazing value and I can physically feel the medicinal properties after consuming it, as I have been nursing a sore throat...I know I know....I am staying home. But anyways, this honey is helping me through rough times and making me feel a lot better. The taste is very delicate and smooth. I absolutely love the taste. I read other reviews on this honey that stated that it appeared very smooth and possibly highly filtered, I just want to say that I felt the texture of the bees wax in the honey. It is smooth delectable honey, but it does seem to have all the components of raw honey that'd you be looking for, in means of health benefits. I don't see myself buying other honey as long as this is available, it is that good. ... show more

Not sure what's in this stuff (assuming just honey) but it looks and tastes like the Cadbury Easter egg creme! It's absolutely delicious. And it's obviously not cadbury creme, because I was pigging out on this by the spoonful throughout the day, and started dropping pounds. I guess it increases your metabolism (?) because I was losing about 1/2 pound a day while eating this, doing nothing else new! I just ordered more! ... show more
