Poor structural design allowing future bowing and failure

The images of the desk suggest robust support stock. But that is far from actual. The write up says the electrical outlet's location is "interchangeable"... to the most casual observer, this suggests they can be mounted on either the left or right sides of the desk. This is not true. The outlets can only be mounted on the right side based on the pre-drilled holes and embedded threaded countersinks. The overall structural support design for this desk is Super poor. The images of the desk support members and the write-up suggest square tubular steel, but the material is 1.5"x 3/4" THIN steel. The material is so thin I compressed and deformed the steel with "hand only" tightening! One should really glue each bolt in place because you cannot tighten any of them with deforming the support members. There's no real support for the center of the top. There are only wood dowels that hold the center of the three pieces together. It's 29.5" deep! The top itself is only 5/8" thick so it is too thin to offer real rigid support. With no underneath cross members holding up the desktop, the top will evidentially bow and deform under computer monitor or printer weight. With the desk 29.5" deep, that's a "show-stopper" in itself. There are no back cross members preventing the desk from collapsing "side-to-side" save 2" 90 degree "L" brackets, (The brackets should have been 6") and only 2 additional 8" supports when there should have been one for each corner. I'm too far into the desk construction... too many deformed pieces... to package things up... and return the desk. So... and fortunately... I have a robust shop; I'll add a piece of full desk width angle stock near the bottom of the back legs and a similar one across the bottom of the desktop pieces that I'll prime and then paint. This is one flimsy desk that might be suited for puzzles than computer and printers. ... show more

I would give it a 5 star but the dimensions are not accurate. Its a quarter inch longer then advertised. But with a little cutting i made it fit. Good quality iverall

Very sturdy

Very sturdy, fairly easy to put together. If you are putting it together in a small space you might want to put the top on and screw it together underneath the desk. That's what I ended up doing. A bit of a challenge that way, but it is pretty large.
