I bought these specifically to go backpacking in 20 degree weather. I have a condition call Raynauds, its a restriction of blood flow to fingers and toes and when it's cool outside my fingers and toes are incredibly painful at all times. That being said I walked around on a mountain top at night, roughly 23 degrees with 30 mph winds, in my flip flops just like the picture. These socks are sooo good, 3 days I was up there and wearing just wool socks and flip flops i was warm. There was a point my feet started to sweat but still never got cold. No idea why a corny slogan is knitted into these socks. But so far I've used them on a couple 10 mile hikes, and they did ok. A little compression can be seen at the heel and front of the foot, but I'm assuming that is the loft of the wool getting compacted by my heavy weight. I did not feel any hot spots on my feet while hiking, and my feet felt great at the end of the hikes. "Time may tell" if these socks last for another few hikes! So far, so good. ... show more
